What is VA disability💥
VA disability is NOT welfare.
VA disability is NOT “free money.”
VA disability is NOT a reward.
It is compensation for a chronic medical condition that began in service, was aggravated by service, or is directly caused by another service-connected issue.
That’s it. That’s the definition.
And yes — conditions can range from something as “simple” as hemorrhoids to something as serious as cancer, because both fall under the same rule:
👉 If it started in service and it’s chronic today, it qualifies.
👉 If service made it worse, it qualifies.
👉 If it’s secondary to another service-connected condition, it qualifies.
Veterans aren’t “gaming” anything.
They’re following the law exactly as written.
The problem isn’t veterans…
It’s the misunderstanding around what VA disability actually is.

A year ago we were living in Texas with no intentions on ever leaving.
We were newly married.
Three kids.
A nice house.
And since we started dating— we were never really apart for longer than a few days.
So to say it was a hard and stressful time for us both is actually an understatement 🥹
I know he was dealing with so much on his end.
I know how hard basic can be (after going through it myself).
But I never went through it with kids and a spouse.
So while I thought I knew what he was experiencing— I really didn’t.
But after so many years of him supporting me and my dreams, it was my turn to do it for him.
Letter after letter..
we took it day by day 💌
And if you were following me back during this time,
you definitely saw me emotionally not at my best.
But a year later, we are now in Colorado, experiencing snow together, experiencing mountains together, experiencing new adventures… together 🩷
It’s crazy to look back a year ago and see how much our lives have drastically changed… and I know this is just the beginning.
I’m sure we will have some deployments ahead of us, and more time we will be apart.
This life isn’t easy. We knew this going in.
But together— I really don’t think there isn’t anything we can get through 🩷 day by day. Moment by moment.
And now we really do appreciate the time we do get together 🥰
