A rare opportunity for music lovers in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town… come see the Hanepoot Brass Band, a unique acoustic outfit playing their infectious goema, marabi and other South African jazz grooves at Die Boer in Durbanville on Tue 10 March at 20h30 pm. Led by well-known trombonist Jannie “Hanepoot” van Tonder, this much loved group, a favorite of Cape legend David Kramer who was seen last week at their sold-out show in Muizenberg, does not often appear on the northern side of the highways. Tuesday at Die Boer will also be the last of a series of concerts leading up to the band recording their new album with Jonny Blundell of Rootspring Studios. Hanepoot Brass Band has been maturing their repertoire of original compositions, as well as a selection of unique arrangements of works by some of our other great indigenous jazz composers. Their performance of this special and exciting repertoire at Masque Theatre last weekend earned them a standing ovation from a famously discerning audience. Come see the Hanepoot Brass Band on Tuesday 10 March at 20.30pm at Die Boer music/theatre restaurant in Durbanville. Tickets at https://dieboer.com/event/eKx/booking
