If I had $550,000, I wouldn’t buy this business. I’d start one. And it isn’t close. HVAC outside Austin. $550,000 asking, $152,608 in cash flow. That’s 3.6x earnings — but 1.45x revenue, and HVAC almost never trades above 1x revenue. What you get: home-based, one full-time employee, one truck, zero advertising spend. That’s a route and a set of tools. Building it instead: van, wrap, tools, licensing and a website runs about $65K. Working capital, $30K. HVAC Local Service Ads average $233 per closed customer at a $2,110 ticket — his $379,014 is roughly 180 jobs, so about $42,000 of marketing. **Total to build: $136,853.** But forget the comparison. Look at what you actually earn. $152,608 of cash flow minus $78,497 in loan payments leaves you **$74,111**. A senior HVAC technician in Austin makes **$76,840** as an employee. You would earn more working for somebody else. And to earn less, you signed for $495,000 of debt with an unlimited personal guarantee — SBA requires it from any 20%+ owner — and above $350,000 the lender must lien personal real estate with 25% equity. Your collateral is a van and some tools. The shortfall comes off your house. A 20% soft year drops your take-home to about $17,000. You still owe the $495,000. And you still have to go turn the wrenches. That’s not a business. That’s a job with a mortgage attached to it. Rough numbers for illustration — 10% down, 10-yr SBA note at 10%, benchmark ad costs and wage data. Real rates, wages and terms will differ. Do your own diligence. #buyingabusiness #sba #dealanalysis
Success usually isn’t about finding the perfect strategy—it’s about committing before you have all the answers. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that if you want your business to grow, you have to be willing to invest in it. That means your time, your money, your energy, and your willingness to keep going when the results aren’t immediate. If you’re building something of your own, keep going. The work you put in today is what creates the opportunities everyone else sees tomorrow. #realtor #business #investinyourself #austin #ceo

Some of my greatest business lessons came from @wwe 🔥 People laugh when I say it, but it’s true. Watching WWE taught me confidence, communication, and how to command a room. Legends like @ricflairnatureboy, Dusty Rhodes, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Wahoo McDaniel understood something every leader needs to learn: if you don’t believe in yourself first, nobody else will. #N247RU #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #GrowthJourney #SuccessMindset
One of Austin’s longest running businesses says they are closing after 141 years in business. Lammes Candies has been a favorite spot for many over the years, serving up the iconic “Texas Chewie Pecan Praline” or “Longhorns”. “It has been a true blessing,” said Lammes Candies Vice President, Lana Schmidt. “I grew up in this store.” For Schmidt, running the family business has been has been extra special, but she says it’s now time to move on. “It is time for us to spend time with our grandchildren,” said Schmidt. “Time goes by so fast and we really want to be able to be there for everything.” She says inflation has also been difficult to deal with as chocolate and pecan prices have risen along with everything else. “We could choose to make a less quality product, not use the premium chocolate, not use the premium pecans, but we want our legacy to be quality, so we are choosing not to go that route,” said Schmidt. Thanks for letting me stop by and share your story @lammes1885! Full story on KXAN.com #Austin #Texas #Foodie #Candy #lammescandies

Quick audit: would AI actually recommend your Austin business right now? Here's what we see on most bios and profiles we review, and the one-line fix for each: → "Passionate about helping clients look and feel their best" Fix: say the service and the city. "Bridal hair and makeup in Austin." → Reviews that just say "Great experience, highly recommend!" Fix: ask clients to mention what you did and where. AI reads specifics, not vibes. → A caption that's all hashtags, no sentence explaining the offer Fix: one clear line that answers "what is this and who is it for" before anything else. None of this is about being the biggest or most followed. It's about being the clearest. Which one of these is you right now? Be honest, we'll help you fix it. #aisearch #aisearchoptimization #localseo #smallbusinessmarketing #foundnotfollowed #womeninbusiness #backedbywomen
