Baker’s annual birthday picture with BEVO 🐮 I can’t believe that in just two months she’ll be three years old 🧡 Which means it’s almost time to take her traditional birthday picture with @texasmascot 🤘
Each year we meet up with @katschaperphotography for some sunset photos and it’s one of my favorite days of the year.
Ricky has been friends with Mr & Mrs Baker, the owners of BEVO, since his days as a @utaustintx Silver Spur BEVO Handler 20+ years ago... that is who Baker is named after 🧡
I’m definitely bummed out that Baker won’t get the typical @texasfootball experience this year because she is such a #littlelonghorn fan and LOVES going to games!
Whatever it looks like, we’ll be cheering for the #texaslonghorns from afar!

Would get a headshot by a stranger? While attending a conference in Austin, @peter_hurley asked if I’d be interested in getting in front of his camera.
We had never met each other but we grew our photography careers around the same time.
When our paths crossed at @drgabriellelyon event, he generously asked if I’d like to step into his “studio” 😉
Thanks Peter for such a fun experience!
Austin on feeling invisible.
For most people, it might just be fashion. But for Austin, it was something much deeper.
His story hit home for me because I know that feeling.
Growing up in Switzerland with an Italian background, there were moments when I didn't feel fully accepted. School was in Swiss German, and I struggled. At times, I felt different, caught between worlds, never fully belonging to either.
So when Austin spoke about feeling invisible, I understood exactly what he meant.
This portrait is not just about fashion. It's about identity, confidence, and the universal desire to be seen for who we truly are.
Thank you, Austin, for sharing your story.
I see you now.
We see you, Austin. ❤️

@austin.james.jackson shares the best camera settings for photographing moving animals! 🦅📸
Settings may vary based on the animal you’re photographing, but this guide from Austin will help you determine which settings to use. ⤵️
First, open the aperture all the way to let in the most light and create the most background blur.
Next, adjust the shutter speed. 1/1000 is fast enough to freeze most wildlife, but if you’re photographing an animal that moves quickly or erratically, 1/2000 may be safer. When photographing birds, you may need an even faster shutter speed to capture them in flight.
Finally, set the ISO to properly expose the scene. Raise the ISO as needed to properly expose your subject. Then also adjusts the focus mode and focus area, making sure subject recognition is set to animal.
Hopefully, these tips help you dial in your camera settings to capture tack-sharp wildlife images!
