Autism Sensory products
Autism “meltdowns” occur because the demands or expectations of a situation EXCEED a person’s CURRENT level of ability.
Our “level of ability” to tolerate challenging situations is subject to change. Not getting enough sleep or not eating on time are just a few things that can contribute to someone’s ability to handle stress.
For some autistic people, having an alternative method of communication can be helpful during or after challenging moments. ❤️🩹

Autism... the side you don't see.
I think a lot of people see autism as a quirk, a personality trait or even a superpower.
But when you're living it every single day, especially with severe or non-verbal autism, it's a disability.
It changes how your whole family lives.
Every day is planned differently. Every outing is thought about. Every decision is made around your child's needs.
Even something as simple as a trip to the shops or an hour out can end in sensory overload, a meltdown or having to leave early.
We share a lot of the lighter moments on this page...
the laughs, the milestones and the little wins.
But this throwback was one of the hard days.
I think it's important to show both sides of autism, because this is the reality many families live every single day. 💙

Some days the world sees autism. We see Sam.
One of the things that makes Sam unique is that he often speaks in reverse. It’s hard to explain until you actually hear it. Over the years, we’ve learned that communication doesn’t always look the way people expect—and that’s okay.
Every word, every attempt to connect, is worth celebrating. ❤️
If you’re raising or loving someone with autism, keep believing, keep learning, and keep celebrating the progress that others might miss.

He stims ALL. DAY. LONG. 💙
My 9-year-old has autism and ADHD, and sitting still is one of his biggest struggles. Stimming is how he regulates his body and stays comfortable.
It may look different to some people, but for him, it’s a NEED not a behavior I need to “fix.” ❤️

When I socialize, my brain goes through this process of analyzing the conversation or question being asked, and then goes to the “human-behavior” data bank in my mind to respond. It’s difficult to explain, but let’s just say that socializing is very very very unnatural for me.🧠

Her autism is not a choice. Her sensory issues are not a choice. But being kind to those with disabilities is. Simple. Always be kind. 💕🤟❤️
