ARTIST PROFILE - BRYANT GOZALI
Bryant Gozali is an Indonesian cellist based in Jakarta, known for his dedication to chamber music and education. He serves as Co-Principal Cellist of the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and is a founding member of the Jakarta Trio with violinist Giovani Biga and pianist Carla Suharto. A frequent performer at Aula Simfonia Jakarta and the JS Bach Recital Hall, he also appears regularly in the Jenggala Chamber Music Series curated by Edith Widayani.
He began studying cello at nine with Professor Su Li, Director of the Xiamen University Arts Department, before continuing with Hermina Ilano of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. These early experiences led to leadership roles in youth orchestras across Southeast Asia.
Bryant later studied in the United States with Yao Zhao of the San Diego Symphony, completing his undergraduate degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music under Stephen Geber, and a Master’s in Cello Performance at UCLA’s Herb Alpert School of Music under Antonio Lysy. He has also worked with Hans Jørgen Jensen, Paul Katz, and Philippe Muller.
As a chamber musician, he approaches ensemble playing as both a refined discipline and a space for musical dialogue, performing widely across Indonesia.
Alongside performing, Bryant is a dedicated educator. He teaches at Universitas Pelita Harapan and co-founded @mendelssohn_academy.id
with his Jakarta Trio colleagues to support the next generation of classical musicians.
On Saturday 4th April, doors and ballroom will open from 6PM and the concert will commence at 7.30PM

In such a short time, something truly magical still happened ✨✨✨
With only one day of rehearsal, some of it even taking place just moments before the concert began, this string ensemble came together in remarkable unity. Under the guidance and musical direction of Kak Giovani Biga, the winners of Kompetisi Piano Nusantara Plus 2025 and Festival Indonesiana 7 String Category were able to blend into a cohesive, sensitive, and vibrant ensemble.
Together, they performed a timeless masterpiece by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1st movement of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik —one of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire worldwide.
More than just a performance, it was a testament to how music transcends time, bringing young musicians together into one harmonious voice.
