THIS IS THE PLAN OF #Project2025. Itās not a coincidence they removed DEI, and this is the result.

Nearly 300,000 Black women gone from the labor force. This isnāt random. Itās a direct result of federal policies and the dismantling of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Federal job cuts have hit us hardest in education, healthcare, and community-facing roles, the very fields where Black women have historically found stable work. These werenāt just jobs; they were the backbone of our familiesā financial security.
Even though thereās job growth in areas like healthcare and hospitality, Black women, due to systemic discrimination, are often the first to feel the effects of the labor marketās challenges.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports this marks the third straight month of high unemployment rates for Black women.

Recently, I had the honor of moderating a panel of three incredibly passionate and knowledgeable women on behalf of the Black Womenās Health Imperative (BWHI) @blkwomenshealth
This compelling session titled āStress and Black Womenās Healthā aimed to empower Black women by addressing one of the most pressing health issues they face todayāstress as well as the disparities in care for many Black women. The session brought together esteemed experts Dr. Sharon Malone, an OB/GYN and Certified Menopause Practitioner, Dr. TenĆ© T. Lewis, an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Emory University, and Linda Goler Blount, MPH, President of the Black Womenās Health Imperative. Panelists discussed the dangers of internalizing stress - as well as as the importance of self-care practices that go beyond surface-level solutions. The session was seasoned with a lively Q&A, where attendees shared personal stories and sought advice on how to better manage their stress and advocate for their own health.

Thank you to @captcunningham and @lindagblount for inviting me to take part.

Womenās Equality Day marks the 105th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. šš¾šš¾ We celebrate the door it opened in 1920, and we name the truth: Black women and many others were kept from the ballot for decades through racist laws, tests, and intimidation. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 moved us closer, and barriers remain today.
At BWHI, equality is more than a date on the calendar. It means access to a higher standard of care for all, inclusive research and programs that reflect our lived experiences, and a vote that counts. We honor the women who fought without being fully welcomed, and we carry the work forward. šŖš¾
We were not counted then. We are counted now. Our voices are present, powerful, and organized.š

Another Sunday well spent serving women.
This weekend, I had the honor of joining the @blkwomenshealth Black Womenās Health Imperative for Power in the Pause in Montgomery, Alabama another incredible opportunity to share my passion for midlife health, functional medicine, and non hormonal support for women navigating perimenopause and menopause.
I made an agreement with myself, with God, and with my mother:
āSend me⦠and I will go.ā
And thatās exactly what Iām doing.
Every room I step into reminds me why this work matters. Women are looking for answers, tools, compassion, and real solutions not dismissal. They deserve to know that there is help. They donāt have to suffer. They donāt have to lose themselves in the pause. And they donāt have to walk this journey alone.
Thank you to every woman who showed up ready to learn, laugh, share, and feel seen.
Thank you to the organizers for creating a safe space for our stories and our healing.
And thank you, Mom⦠for continuing to guide my feet every time I take the mic.
Onwardā¦
Weāre just getting started.

Credit to @blkwomenshealth We just watched āA Day in the Life Without Black Womenās Inventionsā by @nikitadumptruck and whewā¦
So many things we touch daily, from hair care tools to home innovations to tech foundations were created or improved by Black women. And they did it while navigating racism, sexism, lack of funding, and being denied patents simply because they were Black.
Some were the very first to invent. Others transformed existing tools into what we now rely on every day. Either way, they shaped modern life.
Black women have always been builders, problem-solvers, and innovators, even when the system tried to erase them.
Imagine a day without their brilliance.
Now imagine giving them the credit, access, and investment they deserved.

What an incredible evening at Power in the Pause, presented by the Black Womenās Health Imperative!
I was honored to join this dynamic panel alongside Kimberly Senter of Sacred Connections, Dr. Kordai DeCoteau (moderator), @Dr. Kameelah Phillips, Chanta Blue, BWHI board member @Sharon Hawkins, and Dr. Zsanai Epps, EVP of Programs & Advocacy.
The energy in the room was powerful filled with laughter, learning, and love. Together, we shared unfiltered conversations about perimenopause, menopause, and reclaiming this season of life as a time of power, not pause.
As a Chiropractic Physician and Functional Medicine Practitioner, Iām passionate about amplifying the message that women can navigate this transition naturally, confidently, and holistically.
Grateful to the @blkwomenshealth @loopwellwithus, and @sacred_konnections Connections for curating such an intentional space for women to be seen, heard, and supported.
š« Letās continue the conversation menopause is not the end of vitality; itās the beginning of wisdom, wellness, and strength.

No seriously, Menopause brain be likeā¦
Why did I come in this room?
What was I saying?
Wait⦠what day is it? š©š
Funny, but also very real.
If your thoughts feel foggy, your memory feels off, or your brain just isnāt braining the way it used to, youāre not alone. Menopause can affect focus, recall, and mental clarity and too often, women are left thinking itās ājust them.ā
Itās not.
And weāre in this together.
Weāre building space, sharing real information, and tackling menopause head-on, with community, education, and support.

The assumption that Black female surgeons had to meet lower standards is offensive and factually incorrect! Black women in medicine face enough barriers without having to combat such harmful stereotypes.
Letās set the record straight:
ā¢Black women represent just 2% of all surgeons in the U.S.
ā¢Black female doctors are underrepresented in all specialties but still consistently excel in the field.
ā¢Studies show that Black women surgeons outperform their peers in key metrics, including patient care and surgical outcomes, proving they donāt need to meet ālower standardsā ā they just need equal opportunities.
Letās continue to challenge outdated biases and uplift Black women surgeons who are making a profound impact in healthcare. šŖš¾š©ŗ #BlackWomenInMedicine #BlackWomensHealth #BWHI #TheImperative
