SeaWinds estate in Bandon, Oregon is a one-of-a-kind cliff side location for an epic intimate wedding celebration. Every August we end our summer break from school with a week in Bandon. We reconnect and relax as a family camping, playing and eating. This year we only were able to spend four and a half days because of work and other obligations, so we packed in all of our favorite things. Here's our complete itinerary. Evening 1 3pm arrival to our campground and setup camp Dinner at Bandon Fish Market Arcade games @finsfamilyfun Sunset and agate hunting at Bandon South Jetty Park Day 1 Coffee and breakfast @bandoncoffee Ocean viewing and a 1/2 mile walk around Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge Lunch and dinner at the campground Post dinner walk from Bullards State Park campground to the boat ramp. There's a safe trail to take you there. Day 2 Camp breakfast Play at Face Rock Beach Hot dogs for lunch at Langlois Market Dinner at camp Sunset and tide pools at low tide at Face Rock Beach Day 3 Breakfast at Camp Go play at Sunset Bay State Park (a great spot for paddle boarding) - picnic lunch Dinner The Boat in Coos Bay Sunset at Oregon Island National Wildlife Refuge (the tide pools are amazing here) Day 4 Circles in the Sand and tide pools at Face Rock Beach Breakfast @bandonbakingco Visit Coquille River lighthouse Stroll downtown Brandon's adorable shops Dinner at Tony's Ice cream @facerockcreamery Cider for mom and dad @bandondrain Sunset at Bullards Beach Last morning Pack up camp Brunch at Bandon Fish Market Walk around the shops once more Ice cream Big Wheel General Store Say good bye to the beach at Bandon South Jetty It seems like we were constantly on the go but considering how small a town Bandon is things are very close together so we can experience a lot in a day. We spent a lot of time playing in the water and hanging out at our campsite playing games, reading and eating s'mores of course! We recently road-tripped from Bend to Bandon and decided to stay a night there before making our way down and exploring the southern coast for the first time. We adventured to the Coquille River Lighthouse and walked and shopped around Old Town Bandon. Bandon for $82 a round?? We rolled the dice and luckily had incredible weather in January. Seriously it was 55°, sunny and no wind, our caddies said it was one of the best weekends of the year. When there, we always stay at the boutique Bandon Inn in Bandon, Oregon, on the Oregon Coast, with a 5-minute walk to “Bandon’s Old Town” - it’s the perfect central spot with beautiful views of the town village and its quaint bay. @bandon.inn There are three coffee cafés for morning stops in Old Town Bandon that you can walk to from the Inn: 1. Bandon Coffee Café @bandoncoffee 2. Bandon Baking Co 3. Warehouse Coffee Cafe @warehousecoffeecafe -this is where I got my coffee and did some shopping at the fish market too. They have a great variety of imported Italian pastas - shapes I’ve never seen before. Such a cool variety and very festive this time of year for the holidays! ➡️ Have you been to Bandon? A few snaps from a dreary afternoon in Bandon, Oregon. We passed through Bandon, which is towards the southern end of the Oregon coast, on our journey down to Redwood NP in NorCal. As per usual, the weather was cold, cloudy, and dreary, which gets pretty old after a while. Is a few hours of sunshine too much to ask for!? On top of the weather, we had read so much about Tony’s Crab Shack, which is one of the most popular restaurants on the Oregon coast and is supposed to have some primo Dungeness crab. If you know Sarah, you know crab is at the top of her favorite food list (maybe a few spots below Pad Thai and dumplings). But honestly, Tony’s just was kind of a let down. It wasn’t terrible but we definitely ate better crab elsewhere in Oregon (fellow Oregon coast road trippers be warned). With dreary weather and a disappointing meal behind us, we didn’t have high hopes for our time in Bandon, but, man, the views of the sea stacks being pounded by the powerful Pacific Ocean delivered!
