Controversial take: you should eat dessert after Weight Loss Surgery 🍰 The bariatric community often promotes a black-and-white, all-or-nothing approach: “Never touch sugar again!” This fear-based restriction is a fast track to burnout and eventual weight regain. As a Bariatric Dietitian, I believe in Food Freedom. The goal is not to eliminate dessert; the goal is to eliminate the binge. You need to learn how to incorporate small, mindful portions of foods you love without guilt. The key is the swap: High-sugar, low-protein desserts are out. High-protein, low-sugar swaps are in. 🚨 Heartfelt Confession: On June 10th, I celebrated 3 years post-op (VSG). Reaching my weight loss goals has been life changing, but my journey has also been marred by unnecessary challenges. The bullying, stalking and hypocrisy of oursleevedlifepodcast aka (Kellie Wilson, Mel Gottfried) is devastating and never ending to this day! Being new to this community and then to be targeted by the Stewards, owners of Bariatric Society. @bariatricretreat2024 (Christopher Steward aka @iambubbastewart bariatric_bro and Nerissa Stewart rissarecharged @one_hungry_mother), have left me, like a lot of you, disgusted, feeling isolated and hurt as a newcomer. 💔 Despite the BS, I refuse to let them define me. I’m standing up against being targeted by the gatekeepers, bully’s , business and financial fraud, SA, and the grooming of new bariatric patients. I’m pursuing charges against those responsible for the slander and sabotage towards me and my brand, and the hardship caused on the attendees of @bariatriccruise by @iambubbastewart and his wife. This community is not their playground anymore! 🌟 To everyone who has stood by me, your kindness has been my anchor. Together, we can create a new, supportive, and uplifting community where everyone feels worthy, welcomed and accepted.
