Seneca: “True joy is a serious thing.”. The way I interpret this dance because you’re alive goddamnit, dance to express yourself regardless of what people might say or think, dance to be free. That joy will stick to you like uhhh mango to sticky rice shawty like glue to paper.
Don’t forget to dance. Life is too short to not have a boogie. To not express yourself. To be rigid, not free to express. We get one spin. Twist ya hip, shake ya rump, do that dance move that feels a lil weird but just right.
Forreal tho it’s deeper than dancing. It’s expression of self freely, it’s separation from worry and life, it’s presentness and a calm mind, it could be shared dance with a loved one. Be where your feet are, remember you’re alive, breath. Dance.
One of my Muay Thai coaches told me to stop dancing always between rounds 🤣 I feel good in the gym, I love that space. Gotta wiggle a lil sometimes baby.

‘Birth of Rap’ by Lil B, 2009.
I was debating the origins of cloud rap this week with a member of the community then today this came up on shuffle.
‘Birth of Rap’ is an iconic track that helped define the sound of cloud rap. Lil B’s work, including collaborations with producer Clams Casino on tracks like ‘I’m God,’ established a new style of lo-fi, experimental hip-hop that became a hallmark of the internet-driven ‘blog era’ of music.
Lil B’s influence is profound, paving the way for modern internet rap culture and the rise of ‘cloud rap’ as a genre. He is recognized for promoting individuality, authenticity, and experimentation across both music and fashion, many times in contrast to traditional hiphop norms.
His early influence is evident in the work of artists like Chance the Rapper, ASAP Rocky, & Earl Sweatshirt but can now be seen across the whole genre as well as in the popularization of words like ‘based.’

Lil B didn’t just rap, he preached a mindset. In this video with Kele Books, he’s seen reading directly from his book “Takin’ Over by Imposing the Positive!”, sharing his ideas out loud with no filter. This clips focus on self love, positivity, and moving without fear of judgment. These still circulate because they feel raw and unpolished, like advice spoken in real time, not a performance. This was the foundation of what Lil B called being “Based,” choosing belief and openness over negativity, in music and in life.
Fun fact: “Takin’ Over by Imposing the Positive!” was written in an email and text style, meant to feel like Lil B was talking directly to you, which is why these early readings feel so personal and unscripted.

Real spill - Always evolving and changing. I feel like a damn new person shawty. I had to stop trying to change what I can’t control, I had to face storms and stop running.
Seneca said he who is brave is free. Sometimes it’s brave to drop unhealthy vices, cut off bad relationships, stand within your boundaries and build habits that are healthy and conducive to happiness and progress.
You can’t become a new person overnight but if you add in that discipline shawty, reflect and attempt to embody a self aware and loving self then you on the right path. Continue to learn things, challenge yourself and invest in yourself shawty then you’ll grow!
