Welcome to our #storyformedfridays book group where we’ll be helping you to nurture a story formed life for you and your family. This week our theme is Light Conquers Darkness ✨ The Beast of Ten by @bethbrower “Light is the only thing that grows stronger when darkness deepens.” This otherworldly and dark beauty and the beast reimagining may seem like just another fantasy book, however deep Christian symbolism is interwoven throughout and the question this book ultimately proposes to the reader is, “Will you be a child of light or a child of darkness?” It’s never too late to have our wicked hearts of stone turned to flesh. We’re never too far out of God’s reach “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons… not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” (Romans 8:38) I’m certain that no contemporary author writes a redemption story like Beth does, and this gritty battle to reject sin and embrace goodness, truth and beauty is one of a kind. This book is atmospheric and unforgettable. All the stars, all the feels, and so much love for Beth’s set-apart stories. On a lighter note, my husband read this one to me on date nights and refers to this book as, “The Beast Often…” and had a habit of singing the beauty and the beast tune at all the crucial parts *sigh*.
