Six interest rate cuts 💷 Cheaper energy bills ☀️ Lower mortgage costs 🏡 We know the cost of living is the number one issue for most people across the country and that is why @uklabour is taking action to help.
We've had enough of watching the super‑rich get richer 💸 while the rest of us struggle to get by 😤. We won't be distracted by scapegoating, finger‑pointing or division 🚫👀. We know we can build a brighter future for everyone if we tax wealth fairly ✨🌱. That's why we wanted to bring you this message from our ED @FaizaShaeen & our friends Daniel Kebede from the @nationaleducationunion📚 and Zak Coleman from @gndrising 💚🔥. It's also why we'll be joining the @togetheralliance march on Saturday ✊💥.
Ending the two-child benefit cap is long overdue. It was a cruel policy that deliberately pushed children into poverty. But at least 150,000 children in larger families will still see no benefit because of the household benefit cap. The government must go further. #EndChildPoverty #SocialJustice
In Derby, we’re one team. And I firmly believe that means no one should be left behind. That’s why investment in our city matters. And so do the choices that help you keep more of your own money in your pocket. From April that means £150 off energy bills, rising to £300 for lower-income households through the Warm Home Discount. Prescription charges and rail fares frozen. The two-child limit ending. Six interest rate cuts already delivered, saving families over £1,300 on a typical new fixed-rate mortgage. After 14 difficult years, change won’t happen overnight. But we are moving in the right direction, step by step putting more money back into people’s pockets. I’ll keep working to make sure every part of Derby feels it.
We must cap political donations so we can have a functioning democracy says Will Stronge of the Autonomy Institute
Join me on my recent visit to the Houses of Commons with the Personal Finance Society as part of the New Generation 2026 Programme, joining a parliamentary discussion panel on how our profession can better support a wider range of communities. Proud to be part of a generation focused on raising standards and widening access. What more could we be doing to make financial planning truly accessible for all?

In an uncertain world, I want to reassure you: protecting people from the cost of living is my primary focus.
The Wiseup team is incredibly proud to be recognised in Parliament recently, where Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Pat McFadden and Altrincham and Sale West MP, @connorrandmp, discussed our work and the importance of work experience and mentoring for young people. Such programmes can be the difference between opportunity and exclusion, which is why we work tirelessly to bridge the gap between education and employment for every young person, regardless of their background or circumstance. A big thank you to our employer partners for providing so many opportunities for young people on our programmes. We're looking forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how we can enable more young people to access mentoring and work experience opportunities across the UK. Very grateful for Connor Rand supporting us and championing our work on the national stage!
This Government has the right economic plan in an uncertain world. Cutting the cost of living, cutting borrowing and growing the economy to make all parts of Britain better off.
“education should expand opportunity not entrench intergenerational unfairness” thank you @peterprinsley for endorsing a fairer student loan system that does not freeze young people’s futures! it’s time for real change to make sure young people have the same opportunities as the generations that have come before them this debate was put forward by @cllrjasathwal because of campaigning by students and graduates. we can win real change if we keep campaigning! sign the petition in our bio to join the fight
Today, the Chancellor will deliver her Spring Statement @ukhouseofcommons. I’ll be there to see what support she’s going to offer the 1 million young people that are not in education, employment or training - a problem made worse by her awful economic policies. So @rachelreevesmp, are you going to invest in Britain to tackle this growing problem, or make things worse like you usually do?
