Genesis 4 reminds us that jealousy and anger, when left unchecked, can destroy what love built. 💔

if your bible reading has been going in one eye and out the other, this is for you 🫶🏼📖
how to actually retain what you’re reading :
1. slow down babe. it’s not a race to the last page🐢
2. say it out loud… your brain remembers what your mouth speaks
3. write ONE sentence after you read. just one. what hit you?
4. ask yourself: “what does it say, what does it mean, what do i do with it”
5. connect it to your actual life before you close your bible. like… right now, today
6. stay in the same passage for a whole week. depth over speed always🤍
7. text a friend what you read. the second you teach it, you remember it
8. pray the verse back to God. turn it into a convo not just a reading ✨
9. pick ONE verse and carry it with you all day like a little gift
10. go back and read your old notes. memory is built through return not just exposure
💛be patient with yourself, keep showing up, He meets you there every time 🕊️

EP 5 — How to Start Reading Your Bible
☀️How I personally read the Bible
Bible reading is not just about finishing chapters. It’s about slowing down, listening to what God is speaking through His Word, and connecting it with our lives.
Sometimes it may be a blessing, sometimes correction, repentance, obedience, or even a warning.
The more you read, the more you will begin to love His Word.
If you haven’t started yet, start today.
God bless you! 💛

I’ve been praying a pretty crazy prayer.
2,000 women.
Not for a number. Not for followers. But because that’s 2,000 women intentionally opening their Bibles, praying, moving their bodies, watching their words, building discipline, and putting Jesus first for 75 days.
We’re already over 600 women.
And we start TUESDAY.
There are only TWO DAYS left, and I’m still praying big.
Maybe you’re one of the women I’ve been praying for.
75 Heart for Jesus is 75 days of Bible reading, daily Bible-study-style breakdowns, accountability, community, prayer, movement, and learning to build habits with Jesus at the center.
The entire 75 days is only $20.
If you’ve been watching and thinking about joining, don’t wait until you feel perfectly ready. Come start with us.
And if you’re already in, SHARE THIS. Help me find the women who need these 75 days.
Comment 75 and I’ll send you the link.
Tuesday. We begin. 🤍

One of the greatest joys of my life is walking with God. Year after year, I have seen His wonders in my life 🥹 When it was hard, He held me. When things have been good, He has reminded me to live with a grateful heart and delight in Him.
This year, my prayer is for establishment and fulfilment in and through Him 🙏🏽
Stay plugged in to God’s truth through Bible reading, devotionals and prayer. @youversioneastafrica is here to support your walk with God ♥️
Earlier this year I struggled so bad trying to be consistent with my Bible reading, in a way I never have before….it was bad. I felt like God was so disappointed in me and I felt like I needed to make up lost time. I felt like we were so distant.
I read His word and encountered scripture after scripture that showed me how faithful and loving He was.
He was never distant from me. He wants a relationship with His children and He is faithful even when we’re not.
I thought God was always disappointed in me but the Bible says: he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing. (Zeph 3:17)
I thought God only focused on my failures but the Bible says: Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you (Isaiah 43:4)
And to double down, when God looks at me, He doesn’t see my failures, He sees Christ’s righteousness 🙌🏽
If you feel like a failure, if you feel like God is disappointed in you, read your Bible, learn more about how God sees you…and follow me as I share how I got to the other side 🫶🏽✝️

Bible Reading and Coffee Drinking
Study of Philippians - Chapter 3
Archive of my live podcast recording on 8/21/26.
In this episode of Bible Reading and Coffee Drinking, we dive into Philippians 3, where Paul reminds us that nothing compares to truly knowing Jesus. He warns against putting our confidence in our accomplishments, status, or religious credentials and points us instead toward righteousness through faith in Christ.

Sometimes the hardest part of following Jesus is when it feels like nothing is happening.
Prayer, Bible reading, and worship don’t move you like they used to. Everything in your spiritual life feels dry, empty, quiet 😔
But friend, you’re not failing. You’re being formed.
Jesus is just as close in the silence as in the breakthrough.
He sees every time you choose to show up when it’s hard.
This is how roots grow deep.
This is how trust is strengthened.
This is how your soul is prepared for a deeper life with Jesus.
Hold on. God is with you. He’s working.
I encourage you to read our book, “Journey of the Soul.” It will give you language to understand what you’re going through and what it looks like to draw closer to Jesus when you feel stuck.
And for a limited time, the book is buy one get one free!! Comment BOGO and I’ll send you the link ❤️
