Sometimes you just need a picnic with your friends. Bonus points if you spot the rabbit hopping through the background halfway through 🥹

When was the last time you saw a Hairy Woodpecker?
It takes teamwork to feed several hungry nestlings. 🐥 That’s why both Hairy Woodpecker parents take turns feeding their young, even after they leave their nest. The males will typically forage farther from the nest than the females, returning with ample food to sustain the chicks, until they beg for more.

One of the biggest advantages of a caged feeder is pretty simple: it can give smaller birds a place to feed with a little less competition.
I’ve used setups like this for years, but I always enjoy watching a new generation of birds encounter one for the first time.
There’s usually a bit of hesitation, some testing and looking around, and then eventually they figure out that the food is right there and the cage really isn’t much of an obstacle at all.
This reel happened to catch that whole process playing out in real time.
