This might be one of the prettiest hikes in Colorado! SAVE for later 📌 This is a hard hike. It will kick your ass, but it will forever alter your brain chemistry. Welcome to… Lower, Middle and Upper Blue Lakes (Ridgway, Colorado)! ⚠️ A permit system will likely be implemented in 2026 so plan accordingly. Details! ⬇️ 🌲 9 miles 🌲 2,600 ft gain 🌲 Out & back 🌲 Facilities at trailhead I would recommend this trail during July and August for peak wildflowers! So be sure to add it to your list for spring & summer! My friend and I hiked Blue Lakes Pass (past the lakes) and ended with a 15 mile day. Bring extra water! The 10 essentials. 📍Lake Agnes in @stateforeststatepark 🏔️🥾🫎 This dreamy lake with an island is the ultimate hidden gem. Hike around the perimeter, bring a lunch and try to spot some moose on the way up! You can fish but only artificial fly and lure fishing is permitted. Bag and possession limit for trout is two fish. 🎣 If you want to make a trip out of it - check out @yonder_yurts they are fun back country yurts that you can stay in all year round! 🔥🛖 Comment below your favorite hikes! You will need a times entry reservation. Also this trail is dog friendly. Make sure to keep them on a leash at all times.
