There is no such thing as an “AI Artist” or “AI Writer”, you’re a curator of stolen works. That’s not up for debate. If you are a creator in any way, stop following pages that use AI, stop buying AI content in physical or digital format, and support the whole warts community not just your sub-community. I am pledging to too using and consuming AI as much as I possibly can. Have you ever wanted to live in a black mirror episode? If so, here’s your chance. Meta have just been granted a patent to for an ai to post on behalf of deceased users. The patent states ‘may be used for simulating the user when the user is absent from the social networking system, for example, when the user takes a long break or if the user is deceased.’ They want to use your current social media posts to train ai to replicate your voice in the future. This ai clone of you would then be able to post, like and dm people by simulating your previous behaviour on social media. Not only that but the patent does include references to technology that would allow this ai model to simulate audio and video calls from the deceased. Who needs an ouija board? Meta did say that they had no plans to use this patent and that it’s common to file patents just to protect ideas but I think it’s raises the larger question of people using generative ai to replicate human connection. This comes from a Vantage Point study from September 2025. - more than 50% of teens use ai companions a few times a month or more.
