Marveling at @amr.a.salah's footage of the ancient temple complex of Abu Simbel, built approximately between 1264-244 BCE. 😮🇪🇬 The Abu Simbel Temple comprises two individual temples, both rock-cut structures built during the reign of King Ramses II. One temple is dedicated to King Ramses II and the second temple is dedicated to his wife Queen Nefertari. During the times of Hezekiah’s reign (715 BCE) the Pool Of Siloam was built. This was the starting point for those who made the annual trip to Jerusalem during the “Pilgrimage Holidays”, and where they ascended by foot to the inner court of the Temple Mount to bring offerings. The Pool of Siloam was used by people for ritual purification, before visiting the Temple. This ritual is also known as going to the “Mikveh”
This pool has many stories, it was the start before one reached their spiritual destination.
You must be wondering, how does this pool connect to the upcoming holiday? Well, Shavuot was one of the Pilgrimage Festivals in which people brought sacrifices to the Temple!
 We urge you all to come on in, take in the sites and connect to the land as our ancestors once did! The Pool Of Siloam excavation is happening now, you wont want to miss history being uncovered! #newdiscovery #secondtemple #silvercoin #coin #puresilver #newfind #culturegram #biblicalfind #archaeologylife #archaeological #archeologicalsite #ancientjudea #ancientbuilding #past #dig #ancienthistory #historical #templemount #antiquity #ilovejerusalem #jerusalem #cityofdavid #iloveisrael #oldcity #archaeology #history

Will this be the year the reign of short-form video content comes to an end? The proliferation of short form video has resulted in a a sea of low quality, uninteresting retention hacks — and relationships and community is built through long-form content. Both creators and platforms are realizing they are hard to monetize. My instinct says that platforms will begin to prioritize then less, and the biggest opportunity will now exist once again in long-form content (that can then be broken down into several bite-sized clips as a funnel into the long form) Just thinking out loud here. Wanted to get your thoughts. I tend to ‘build in public,’ and will be shifting my efforts accordingly this year. Let’s see what happens. #content #contentcreator #entrepreneur

Nestled in the town of Halebidu in Karnataka, the Hoysaleswara Temple stands as an architectural marvel of the Hoysala Empire. Built in the 12th century during the reign of King Vishnuvardhana, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple features two main shrines dedicated to Hoysaleswara and Shantaleswara, named after the king and his queen, Shantala Devi. The temple is built on a star-shaped platform and is adorned with an endless array of sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu epics, deities, and mythological creatures, each telling a story of its own. Mythologically, the temple holds a deep spiritual significance, with its sanctums housing the sacred lingams. The detailed friezes on the outer walls illustrate stories from the Puranas, Mahabharata, and Ramayana, bringing to life the rich tapestry of Hindu mythology. Despite being partially damaged during invasions, the Hoysaleswara Temple continues to be a symbol of the artistic and cultural prowess of the Hoysala Empire. The Kailasa Temple, also known as Kailasanatha, is a remarkable monolithic structure located in the Ellora Caves of Maharashtra, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built during the reign of the Rashtrakuta king Krishna I around 756-773 AD. The temple is part of a complex of 34 caves that includes Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain temples. Architectural Marvel • Monolithic Construction: The entire temple is carved out of a single rock, making it one of the largest monolithic structures in the world. Over 200,000 tonnes of rock were removed to create this U-shaped temple, which measures approximately 60m in length, 30m in width, and 30m in height . • Vertical Excavation: Unlike other structures that are built from the ground up, the Kailasa Temple was excavated from the top down, a method that required incredible precision and planning . • Intricate Sculptures: The temple is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures depicting various deities, animals, and mythological scenes. Notable carvings include depictions of scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, and the iconic sculpture of Ravana shaking Mount Kailash . Historical and Cultural Significance • Dedicated to Lord Shiva: The temple represents Mount Kailash, the mythical abode of Lord Shiva. It features a prominent Nandi (bull) statue facing the main shrine, which is a common element in Shiva temples . • Influence of Various Dynasties: While primarily attributed to the Rashtrakuta dynasty, the temple also shows influences from Pallava and Chalukya artisans, indicating a collaboration of styles and techniques from different regions . Remarkable Features • Main Shrine and Nandi Mandapa: The main shrine, with its intricately carved tower, stands 30 meters tall. The Nandi mandapa, positioned in front of the main shrine, is also a significant feature, supported by sculptures of elephants that appear to bear the temple’s weight . • Victory Pillars and Courtyards: The temple complex includes 45-feet high victory pillars and spacious courtyards with additional smaller shrines and elaborate carvings . #reels #ancient #history #love #life #explore #reality #wow #lol #how #isntsgood #instagram
