📍 Telluride, Colorado
Nestled in the San Juan Mountains, Telluride is famous for its dramatic peaks, charming historic downtown, and fall aspen glow. The town combines small-town charm with world-class outdoor adventure, making it perfect for both exploration and relaxation.
✨ Why visit:
• Gondola Ride: Free public gondola between Telluride and Mountain Village with sweeping views of golden aspens.
• Historic Downtown: Quaint streets lined with shops, cafés, and colorful 1800s architecture.
• Outdoor Adventures: Hiking, mountain biking, and fall leaf-peeping in the surrounding San Juan Mountains.

📍pikes peak, colorado
the scariest drive of my life 😭

When I set out to find Colorado’s ✨dancing aspens✨ earlier this week, I sort of knew where to look and had no idea what the current fall conditions would be there.
Discovering them at peak color was absolute magic 🍂
To protect this gorgeous grove, and because finding it is half the fun, I won’t be sharing its location! If you find them, do NOT sit or stand on the curves and NEVER carve into an aspen.
Many parts of the San Juans are at peak color right now… I can’t recommend this area enough if you’re looking for a gorgeous fall roadtrip this weekend 🏔️🍁
The sounds 😭🐾

What I tell friends + clients when they’re thinking about moving to Colorado that they just need to know ⤵
And listen, I love it here. I moved to Denver in 2018 and have never once regretted it. Not even for a second.
But Colorado is NOT for you if:
❌ You’re attached to moisturized skin
The altitude is wonderful until your lips crack + your tried-and-true moisturizer suddenly stops working. Expect to buy the humidifier and develop a very serious relationship with lip balm.
❌ You expect to jump on the ski lift outside your front door
Denver is next to the mountains, not in them. You get the views + the lifestyle, but you’re still getting on I-70 with the rest of us when you want to ski.
❌ You expect everyone to dress formally
We lean comfortably casual here. Nice jeans, sneakers & a puffer will take you surprisingly far. You may eventually forget what you used to dress up for.
❌ You’re not a water “drinker”
The altitude will remind you very quickly that hydration is not optional. Add cocktails, skiing, hiking, and suddenly carrying a water bottle becomes part of your personality.
❌ You’re tired of hearing about the Broncos
Everyone has an opinion on Monday morning about what happened Sunday. And win or lose, we will somehow convince ourselves, “This is our year.”
❌ You think sunscreen is only for beach vacations
The sun hits differently at altitude. Daily SPF is a must.
❌ You expect to find your tribe immediately
There are so many transplants here, which is great. But it also means a lot of people are building their community at the same time. Finding your people can take a minute.
❌ You think “four seasons” means four predictable seasons
You can leave the house in sunshine, get hailed on by lunch and be back in a T-shirt by dinner. Colorado weather likes to keep everyone humble.
Say yes to the coffee invite, workout class, neighborhood event or book club. It’s all worth it.
Living in Colorado definitely comes with a few things you either learn to love or complain about with the rest of us.
If none of this deinfluenced you comment 💬“GUIDE” & I’ll send you my Denver neighborhood guide!
