these are my settings for concert photography! ✨ disclaimer: not every show is the same so my settings will vary depending on the environment, but ideally i stay around these settings when feasible. explanation! ⬇️ 1. ISO 500-1600 is my most frequent range, giving me the perfect amount of light without compromising quality. however, there are times where i need to push this to extremes like 6400 and 12000. it can be intimidating to push your iso that high but there are many tools to ensure your photo still comes out crisp! 2. shutter speed i found that a shutterspeed of 1/500 is a perfect balance of having sharp photos with no motion blur while also still allowing enough light. with some performers that move rapidly, i move that a bit higher to freeze their motion. sometimes when venue lighting is too dark, i drop it to 1/250 minimum to till freeze motion while having ample light. 3. aperture i like to keep my aperture between f2.8-f4. theres a common misconception that wider open is better, but that’s not always the case. f2.8 is great but sometimes the depth of field is too shallow and blurs parts of the image that you don’t want so i’ve found that f3.2-f3.5 is a perfect balance of still having good depth of field while allowing enough light. if i need the extra depth ill push up to f4 as well! try out these settings for your next concert shoot and lmk how it goes!! #concertphotography #concertphotographer #concerts ##concertphotographysettings #settings #photographytips
