Cool-Down Time Today our Young Leaders learned special Ways to calm down when feeling upset. Assalamualaikum dear parents, Here is a little sharing of today’s activity with the children. 😊 🗓️ Tuesday 🎯 Area of Development: Social & Emotional Development (Revision) 🎨 Activity: Children chose one emotion card (angry, sad, or happy) and acted out the emotion. 📚 Objective: To help children recognize, understand, and express their emotions while building confidence and positive relationships with friends.

“Dekat rumah anak petah bercakap… tapi masuk sekolah terus diam membisu?” Ramai sangka anak malu. Hakikatnya… mungkin itu Selective Mutism. Selective Mutism ialah keadaan anxiety yang membuatkan anak tidak mampu bercakap dalam situasi sosial tertentu.. walaupun sebenarnya dia boleh bercakap dengan sangat baik di rumah. Ini bukan kurang ajar sebab tak nak respon komunikasi. Dan bukan salah parenting. Anak dengan Selective Mutism perlukan pendekatan yang betul: ✔️ Tidak dipaksa bercakap di hadapan orang ramai ✔️ Diberi ruang komunikasi alternatif (angguk, tunjuk, bisik) ✔️ Raikan usaha kecil, bukan tunggu kesempurnaan ✔️ Persekitaran yang konsisten & guru yang memahami ✔️ Kerjasama rapat antara ibu ayah dan pihak sekolah Bila anak rasa selamat, anxiety berkurang. Bila anxiety berkurang, suara akan muncul perlahan-lahan. Setiap kali anak tunduk dan diam… Sebenarnya dia sedang berperang dengan rasa takut dalam diri. Dia bukan tak mahu bercakap. Dia tak mampu pada waktu itu. Dan dia sangat perlukan orang dewasa yang faham. Kalau ibu ayah perasan tanda-tanda ini pada anak umur 4–6 tahun, jangan tunggu terlalu lama. Intervensi awal sangat membantu perkembangan emosi dan sosial mereka. 📩 “Di sini, kami percaya setiap anak ada masa dan cara tersendiri.
