🫶 Is it because we aren’t aware of alternatives? Don’t have the time? I’m really not sure. But, the number of people who come to me after trying and being unable to tolerate the CPAP (and being made to feel terrible for not getting used to it) is surprising. Especially because they usually say - why didn’t anyone tell me there were other options?!
😭 The SHOCKING thing is, when I look at the initial sleep study, it lays out other options right there in the test.. but NO ONE spent the time explaining that. This is problematic. I don’t want to place blame, I just want to educate that there are many other things out there that can be very helpful. CPAP is a wonderful therapy and I’ll neverrrrr discourage it if someone is doing well with it!
HOWEVER, when it isn’t working, it’s time to shift gears and look at options.
