🌾🚜 SUPPORT CT FARMERS “We are taxing the people who feed us out of business.” – Sen. Heather Somers (R) CT Senate Republicans are calling on Gov. Lamont and CT Democrats to stand with us and support our farmers. We’ve been advocating for a tax credit program for months. It’s time to act now! CT’s farmers are struggling. Many have spent generations working on their family farms, feeding our communities, and sustaining our state’s agricultural industry. CT’s affordability crisis is pushing them to the breaking point. If Gov. Lamont won’t support our tax credit for farmers, we are calling on him to release $20 million in immediate relief from the Emergency Relief Fund the legislature approved earlier this year. It’s time for the governor and CT Democrats to stand up for these hardworking residents.

Help is on the way, Connecticut! Senate Democrats voted today to approve a special session package of legislation that will increase business activity in the state. The bill’s provisions include creating a new class of “innovation banks” to forgiving the interest on certain past business tax underpayments, creating a new state-chartered regional water authority, lowering local property taxes on commercial vehicles, reinvigorating the school construction bid process, and streamlining the state’s historic preservation process. #fy #fyp #fypシ #foryou #foryoupage #democrat #senate #connecticut #ct #conn #caucus #meet #hartford #hartfordct #hartfordconnecticut #hartfordcounty #newhavencounty #newlondoncounty #fairfieldcounty #litchfieldcounty #windhamcounty #middlesexcounty #viral #mrsdoubtfire #helpisontheway
According to a recent report, Connecticut ranks as one of the worst places in the nation to do business for the second year in a row. This is a result of decades of failed leadership from CT Democrats who keep choosing higher costs over common sense. Job creators have been clear about why our state is not business-friendly. Energy costs are among the highest in the country, our tax structure punishes the people who hire and invest here, and the regulatory climate makes it harder every year to grow a business in this state. When companies decide Connecticut isn’t worth the cost, the jobs and opportunities go elsewhere. Our families are the ones left paying the price. This crisis was created by one-party rule, and it can be fixed. We need a government that works with our businesses instead of against them. Connecticut can compete again!

During special session last week, I voted for an important amendment that would have returned $500 million dollars of over-taxation from the state’s surplus fund to the hardworking CT taxpayers. This refund would be helpful to hard-working people, families, seniors, and small business owners struggling with the high cost of living. Yet Democrats immediately voted “NO” without any reason stated. This is wrong. I submitted prior legislation to keep more of your money in your pockets and to make CT more affordable for more people. I will continue to advocate for it, similar to what is in place in Massachusetts. It’s your money!
$15,000 per day for this crane! I think I paid Frank Compo $6k for three days back in 2000-2004 in Greenwich Ct. . It was so exciting! Two years prior I was at 57 th st office in a suit and tie running my executive search business and bang, I’m now organizing a crane company to set my modular $3m spec house. Sorry, but boys will be boys, and it was fun – and still is. #RealEstateDevelopment #ConstructionLogistics #HeavyMachinery #EntrepreneurMindset #propertyinvesting
