📋 Ingredients For the Rolls: 1 whole white cabbage (suitable for rolling) 1 tbsp butter (for searing and greasing) ½ bunch fresh parsley (finely chopped for garnish) For the Rich Meat Filling: 400g ground beef (or finely chopped mushrooms & walnuts for a veggie option) ½ cup rice or bulgur (washed) 1 onion (finely minced) 2 cloves garlic (minced) 1 tsp salt ½ tsp each: black pepper, allspice, and cumin ¼ bunch fresh parsley or dill (finely chopped) For the Creamy Mushroom Sauce: 300g mushrooms (sliced) 1 cup heavy cream (200 ml) 1 tbsp butter 1 tbsp olive oil 2 cloves garlic (minced) ½ cup chicken or vegetable broth 1 tsp salt and freshly ground black pepper 👩‍🍳 Instructions 1. Prepare the Cabbage & Filling Cut out the hard core of the cabbage with a sharp knife. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Submerge the cabbage leaves into the boiling water for 3-4 minutes until slightly softened. Transfer immediately to a bowl of cold water and drain. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, rice, minced onion, garlic, chopped fresh herbs, and spices. Knead thoroughly with your hands until well blended. 2. Assemble & Bake Remove the tough central rib from each boiled cabbage leaf. Place a generous mound of the meat filling onto a leaf and roll it up tightly into a thick, plump log. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a large skillet. Sear the cabbage rolls for 2-3 minutes per side until the exterior is slightly charred and caramelized. Arrange the rolls snugly in a baking dish (or cast-iron skillet). Cover tightly with a piece of damp parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (375°F) for about 35-40 minutes until the rice and beef are fully cooked through. 3. Make the Sauce & Serve Heat the butter and olive oil in a saucepan. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté over high heat until they release their liquid and turn golden brown. Stir in the minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and heavy cream. Lower the heat and simmer gently for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. #food #delicious #recipeideas #cooking #easyrecipes
Braised Stuffed Cabbage Rolls in Tomato-Garlic Glaze Description: Tender whole cabbage leaves wrapped around a savory meat and rice filling, braised in a rich tomato-garlic sauce until glossy and fork-tender. Ingredients (Serves 4–6) 1 large head green cabbage 1 lb ground meat (beef, pork, or a mix) 1/2 cup cooked rice 1 small onion, finely diced 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 egg 1 tsp paprika Salt and black pepper, to taste 2 tbsp olive oil For the sauce: 1 1/2 cups crushed tomatoes 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tbsp tomato paste 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar 1 tbsp soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup chicken or beef broth Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish Instructions Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Core the cabbage and boil whole for 3–4 minutes to soften the outer leaves; peel off as they loosen. In a bowl, mix ground meat, rice, onion, minced garlic, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper until combined. Place a portion of filling in the center of each cabbage leaf, fold in the sides, and roll tightly into a bundle. Heat olive oil in a large braising pan over medium-high heat. Sear the cabbage rolls seam-side down for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden. In a bowl, whisk together crushed tomatoes, garlic, tomato paste, honey, soy sauce, and broth. Pour the sauce over the rolls, cover, and simmer on low heat for 35–40 minutes, basting occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and the sauce has thickened. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm with extra sauce spooned over the top. Pro Tips Freeze the whole cabbage head the night before instead of boiling it — it softens the leaves perfectly and saves a step. Don't overfill the rolls; too much filling makes them hard to roll tightly and they can fall apart while braising. Sear the rolls seam-side down first to help seal them shut before adding the sauce. Baste the rolls with sauce every 10–15 minutes while simmering for extra flavor and a glossy finish. Let the rolls rest 5 minutes in the sauce off heat before serving so they hold their shape when plated. #ComfortFoodClassics #CabbageRolls #HomestyleCooking #OnePanDinner #EasyFamilyMeals
