Say hello to the latest Canadian citizen 🇨🇦 Today brought back so many memories. My sister was very hesitant when I first told her to relocate and trust the process, but I didn’t give up because I knew Nigeria was only going to get worse. She finally joined me in late 2022, and today, she officially became a Canadian citizen. So proud of how far she has come. From uncertainty to this huge achievement proof that sometimes the hardest decisions lead to the biggest blessings
Congratulations to our beautiful V!! Officially a Canadian Citizen today!! Canada is better and so are we all, with you here!! We love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
With so much gratitude and pride I am happy to announce I have officially become a Canadian Citizen today. I am so incredibly happy and relieved that Maxime and I are free to realize our Olympic dreams! I owe a huge thank you to @patrice__brunet @patricebrunetavocats @skate_canada and @patinageqc for all of your unwaivering support. I would also like to thank @theadultskater for starting the citizenship petition for me that created so much buzz. Last but certainly not least, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to sign the petition. You all made a difference for Maxime and I and we are both so grateful. 🙏🏼🇨🇦💛
🇨🇦 Share this with someone who’s applying for Canadian citizenship! Here’s how long it took me to become a Canadian citizen - from submitting my application to taking the Oath. 🇨🇦✨ 📅 My complete timeline is in the reel. 💡 Things I learned during the process: ✅ Every application is different, so don’t compare your timeline with someone else’s. ⏳ It’s completely normal to have weeks (or even months) with no updates. 📲 Keep checking your citizenship tracker, but don’t stress if nothing changes for a while. 📝 Prepare for the citizenship test as soon as you receive the invitation—it comes faster than you think! 📂 Make sure your documents and contact information stay up to date throughout the process. 🎉 The oath ceremony is such a special moment. All the waiting suddenly feels worth it. If you’re currently waiting for your Canadian citizenship, tell me👇 📍What stage are you at right now? ❤️ Save this to compare your own timeline later. 📤 Share this with someone applying for Canadian citizenship. ➕ Follow for more life in Canada content! . . #CanadianCitizenship #CitizenshipTimeline #CanadaImmigration #IRCC #CanadianPR
Wrapped in the ceremony of becoming a Canadian citizen is a deep commitment to build a life here, to contribute, and to strengthen the country we share. It’s also a promise from all of us to welcome, include, and move forward together.   On Canada Day in Thunder Bay, people from around the world stood together, took the oath, and became Canadian citizens. Behind each oath is a story of courage, sacrifice, and hope. Some came seeking safety, others opportunity, many simply a new start. All chose Canada.   Newcomers have always shaped Canada’s story. Their cultures, languages, and skills make us stronger and help chart the future we build together.   Congratulations to our newest citizens. Thank you for choosing Canada. We’re so glad you’re here.

I was 18 when the visa came through. Cracked iPhone in my hand, and dreams so big I actually thought $2000 = my whole life sorted. Naive. Excited. Scared too — but I hid that fear behind “I’m just so excited to move.” Nobody told me about the basement nights — missing the smell of mumma’s daal-chawal, not even knowing how to work a cooker properly. Nobody told me I’d stand at a bus stop in -20°C, on the wrong bus, hands numb, still unsure which way home even was. Nobody told me I’d be sweeping floors at a grocery store asking myself, “Is this what I moved here for?” And nobody — nobody — told me that in 2020 I’d lose that job. That in 2023, just three months before my wedding, I’d lose another one. No savings. No plan B. Just me, alone, asking myself — I worked this hard for years, and I still can’t survive three months without a paycheck? That was rock bottom. The deepest one. But today — at 28, a Canadian citizen, in my own home, with a six-figure job and a man who shows up for me every single day — I’m the woman 18-year-old me needed to hear from. I want to hold her and say: “You’re going to make it. I’m the proof.” This journey was never a straight line. It never is. But if you’re an immigrant reading this — yours won’t be either. And that’s okay.
"Huge congratulations to my dear friend and sister, @ireoluwanimi Juliet Robert, on becoming a Canadian citizen! I'm beyond proud of you! You saw the opportunity, worked hard, and conquered your dreams. I always knew you'd shine! Let's celebrate this incredible achievement together! We're both now Canadian citizens! More success ahead, sis! Amb. Dr. Queen Blessing Ebigieson"
To be eligible, you need to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You must be fluent in English (French is required only for postings in Quebec and the National Capital Region). You need to be willing to relocate for training and work, and available to start training full-time within 18 months of applying. There is no upper age limit — a 42-year-old immigrant can apply just as legitimately as a 22-year-old. The training salary is $58,606, and NAV Canada pays you throughout the entire 12 to 18 months of training. Once licensed, the starting salary is over $104,000 for tower controllers and over $143,000 for area control centre controllers. By year 10, most controllers at busy facilities are earning over $200,000 annually with all premiums included. The benefits nobody talks about make this even better. The pension is fully funded by NAV Canada with zero contribution from your paycheque, which is almost unheard of in Canada today. Health, dental, and disability benefits start on day one. Relocation costs during training are covered. Maternity leave provides 17 weeks at 100 percent of your full salary. The selection process runs in a clear sequence. You apply through the NAV Canada Workday portal. You then complete an online cognitive assessment that tests spatial reasoning, attention, and decision-making speed. If you pass, you’re invited to behavioural and situational interviews. Next comes a Transport Canada Category 2 medical assessment, followed by a security clearance and a drug screening that includes cannabis. Once you clear all of it, you receive an offer and your paid training begins. From application to your first day of paid training, the whole process typically takes around four months. . . . 🌻I am Bani and I help immigrants land their dream jobs in Canada 🇨🇦. From stepping off the plane as an international student in 2021 with nothing but dreams, hope, and a suitcase... to standing at my citizenship oath ceremony and finally holding my Canadian passport in my hands. What a journey it has been. ❤️🇨🇦 These five years have taught me resilience in ways I never imagined. They were filled with homesickness, uncertainty, long workdays, deadlines, sacrifices, moments of self-doubt, and countless times I wondered if everything would eventually be worth it. Today, I know the answer. This passport isn't just a travel document. It's a reminder of every challenge I overcame, every milestone I celebrated, and every version of myself that refused to give up. Becoming a Canadian citizen isn't the finish line. It's the beginning of a brand-new chapter filled with bigger dreams, greater responsibilities, and endless possibilities. Here's to new beginnings, new adventures, and calling two beautiful countries home. 🇮🇳❤️🇨🇦 Canada, Canadian citizen, citizenship ceremony, Canadian passport, international student, immigrant journey, Canada life, new beginnings, milestone, gratitude, dreams, perseverance. #canadiancitizenship #immigrantlife #internationalstudents #dreambig #reelinstagram

A Canadian citizen was headed to Brazil with a very heavy load of undeclared items—clearly not your average souvenir haul. #ofoproud🇺🇸
