😭I know you all hate this interview question because it’s vague and open ended. So, I am going to teach you exactly how to answer, “Tell me about yourself.”   👇🏼There’s no “right answer” to this interview question BUT there is a framework you should always follow.     📝But first some rules: 1️⃣ Never get personal in a job interview. Do NOT talk about your husband and your kids. ✅Instead focus on your jobs, accomplishments and goals. 2️⃣ A job interview is just a set of questions about you, and you are going to tell them a bunch of stories about yourself. ✅Practice telling great stories.   Ok, here’s the framework-   PAST- Always start with the past. Because when you tell a good story you start at the beginning. And what is your beginning? How did you get into this career? Why did you go to college? What did you go to college for? Did you have cool/interesting internships?   PRESENT- The core of your “Tell me about yourself” answer should be what you’re doing currently that would qualify you for this position. Talk about your last few jobs, big wins and chief responsibilities.   FUTURE- And the end of you answer is why you are interviewing for this role. Why do you want to work here? What can you do for me? Show your enthusiasm for the interview, “Really excited to learn more today about this opportunity”   🎯And bonus points if you end your interview answers with questions. This the best way to make the job interview feel conversational.   #jobinterview #tellmeaboutyourself #careertok #careeradvice

This 5-minute habit built more trust with senior leadership than anything else I did on my way from Analyst to Director. ⚡ 1. The Friday Recap Email Every Friday before you log off — send your manager a 3-line email. ↳ What I delivered this week ↳ What’s blocked and how I’m handling it ↳ What I’m focused on next week If you don’t send it — they assume you’re behind. If you do send it — they feel in control. Control is the currency of trust. 2. Stop bringing problems. Bring problems with solutions. Average: “The data isn’t final yet.” Director-level: “The data isn’t final so I built a sensitivity analysis around the key assumptions. Here’s my recommendation — should we proceed or wait?” Always have a recommendation. Always. 3. The Translation Rule Stop reporting tasks. Start reporting outcomes. ↳ Don’t say: “I updated the deck.” ↳ Say: “I restructured the narrative which repositioned how we’re opening the pitch.” Tasks are expected. Outcomes get remembered at review time. 4. Own the first 5 minutes of every 1:1 Never walk into a 1:1 and say “what did you want to cover?” Walk in with: “Here are the 3 things I moved forward this week and one area I’d love your input on.” Control the narrative before someone else does. 5. Build a Wins Folder. Right now. You will not remember the 11pm turnaround that saved a presentation. Your manager won’t either. Create a folder — screenshots, praise, key outputs, senior feedback. When performance review season comes: evidence beats memory every single time. 6. Be low friction. The most underrated career skill nobody talks about. Reply fast. Turn feedback quickly. Be reliable at 9pm not just 9am. Nobody promotes the person they have to chase. The Friday email takes 5 minutes. The trust it builds takes years to replicate any other way. Save this. Start this Friday. 🤍 Follow @better_by_britt — I share the execution systems that actually got me promoted. Comment DIRECTOR and I’ll send you the full framework I used to go from Analyst to Director in under 3 years. 👇 #corporatelife #corporategirlies #careertok #psychology #highachievingwomen
If I lost my job tomorrow and needed to get hired FAST, this is exactly what I’d do first 👀 Most people make finding a job way harder by applying to everything and hoping something sticks. If I needed a new role fast, I’d be way more targeted. I’d work backwards from the jobs I actually want, tailor my CV around what those employers are asking for, find the recruiters and hiring managers behind the roles and make sure I’m getting in front of them consistently. Because applying for more jobs doesn’t automatically mean more interviews. Sometimes 20 properly targeted applications can do more for you than 200 random ones. I break down exactly how I’d approach it in the video 👆 Save this for the next time you’re job hunting. #JobSearch #CareerTok #RecruiterTips #JobApplication #InterviewTips

The strangest thing about corporate life is that the work isn’t the work anymore. We spend our days answering Slack messages, responding to emails, updating trackers, attending meetings, documenting work, and switching between conversations. Then we wonder why we’re exhausted. I call it corporate noise. And I think it’s one of the biggest reasons so many people feel busy all day but accomplished very little. Anyone else? #corporatelife #corporatehumor #corporatenoise #workfromhome #officelife workingwomen corporateamerica officehumor productivity burnout careertok wfh
