NEW authentic traditional Korean soups in South East Melbourne ✨🇰🇷🍚 📍 @gaon_gamasot (Carnegie) Gaon Gamasot Gomtang is a family-owned gem that’s only been open for 3 months, and it’s already serving some seriously nourishing, soul soothing Korean comfort food. 👏 Their menu focuses on traditional soups, including gomtang, oxtail gomtang, seolleongtang, galbitang, and even eel soup (which surprisingly reminds me of gamjatang!). Some soups come without seasoning, so you can adjust the flavour exactly to your liking at the table.🤤 They also serve grilled meats like wagyu bulgogi and grilled short ribs. The marinade is beautifully balanced, rich without being overpowering, and perfect with a bowl of rice.🔥 Featuring: •Seolleongtang $24 ⭐️⭐️ •Eel Soup $29 ⭐️⭐️ •Bulgogi $28 ⭐️⭐️ It’s a small, cosy spot, so expect a bit of a wait—but it’s absolutely worth it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking it out! ⭐️ 📍 Shop 2/23 Koornang Rd, Carnegie VIC 3163 . . . [invite] 🏷️ #melbournefood #melbourneeats #melbournekoreanfood #koreansoup #carnegie

History teaches us vital lesson, yet many forget.  A government big enough to promise you everything you want is the same one that will take it all away when the tides turn. Remember the inception of the income tax of 1913? It was painted as a mere ‘pocket change’ tax on the mega-wealthy like Rockefeller & Carnegie. Now fast forward and it is a heavy annual burden on the working families in the middle class. Today’s rhetoric about taxing only the millionaires & billionaires like Gates, Buffet, Zuckerberg and Musk? Don’t buy it. Increasing IRS agents doesn’t mean just watching the ultra-rich. It’s the hardworking middle class that’ll find themselves under the microscope. Remember, every government promise has its price, and it’s off not paid by those you’d expect. Don’t be fooled. Top dog. The Flexner Report, backed by the Carnegie Foundation, set the stage for the Pharmaceutical Industrial Complex that to this day still maims and kills millions of people. Abraham Flexner spent 5 years taking inventory of all the medical schools that prescribed drugs in the United States. He took the list back to the Carnegies and Rockefellers, who owned drug companies, and they funded the medical system as we know it today. If you're seeing this Reel in your feed today, do me a favor, will you? Pause. Take a breath. And let me tell you about this cello solo you're listening to right now. Composed by @andrea_casarrubios, performed by @tommy_j_mesa, "Seven" is a hauntingly beautiful tribute to the essential workers during the global pandemic, as well as to those who lost their lives and are still suffering from the crisis. I had the honor of listening to Mesa perform it live last week at none other than @carnegiehall, whose hallowed concert stages I've missed dearly these past 19 months. Since I wanted to take in the grandeur of the entire venue, I decided to sit on the top 5th tier balcony, perched in the middle to truly appreciate the full acoustics of the space. And while I loved the entire performance lineup from the @sphinxorg program that night, this particular piece lingered with me long after I headed home and throughout the weekend that followed. Mainly because it brought me back to so many moments of 2020, harrowing and hopeful ones alike. As I sat there, shrouded in the dim orchestra lighting, my eyes welled with tears, my heart brimmed with gratitude. The end of the piece, which I highly recommend listening to via the full video on YouTube, caps off with 7 deep, bell-like notes (thanks to the lowest string on the cello tuned half a step lower than usual), signifying the 7pm city-wide clap that started in NYC to honor the frontline workers. Again, I know you have lots to scroll through in your feed right now and the weekend is practically upon us, but if you've happened to make it this far into my long caption, I hope this serves as your sign to support your local arts community, wherever you live. I guarantee you, there are some wonderful artists out there who poured parts of their souls into their work during the depths of 2020 — and it's their work that will grip your heart and punch you in the stomach in the most beautiful, cathartic and yes, absolutely necessary way.
