I found this beautiful Ceiling Medallion at the thrift store for only $3! I was so excited and waited 2 years for the perfect spot! Unfortunately, it didn't fit the light I had picked out for my library room. My mind was already set on having a medallion... so I bought one! It shockingly was more affordable than I thought it would be! I still need to fill in the holes and paint, but I love it! What do you think? MY TOP 3 TIPS FOR ELEVATING YOUR HOME: 1) moulding moulding moulding! I can’t say it enough. Whether it’s board and batten, bead board or wall moulding, add the wood trim to your walls! It adds so much to every space and I’m addicted! And I don’t care if it’s more to dust 😂 it’s worth it to me! I truly also believe that it helps make any color look better 🙌🏻 2) turn rich people’s trash into your treasure 💃🏻 the more you thrift, the more you’ll find! Shop at local thrift stores, on Facebook marketplace and garage and estate sales to find those diamonds in the rough! Real wood furniture looks so much more elegant than any over priced particle board dresser any day! 3) hang those curtains high and wide! Think of your window as the canvas and the curtains as the frame! If you go a few inches down from the ceiling and at least 5-10 inches out on either side, it will drastically change the look of your windows and room height! A clever tip you should know! The harp is the piece that holds your lampshade up and they can come in different sizes! This was a lamp I thrifted that always felt too high until one of my viewers mentioned you can buy a shorter harp to bring the lamp down! I WAS QUOTED $25k FOR MY CEILING!! jk jk you guys should know by now that I don’t ever get quotes because I know I’ll just do it myself for cheaper 😂 and thanks to @americantinceilings for partnering with me again to make this a reality! If you’ve been here for a while, you’ll know that we partnered with them for my son’s copper bedroom ceiling and we looooove it! So when I wanted to cover the beadboard in my bedroom, I knew I wanted to use @americantinceilings again! This time we used the nail up version for a more authentic look, as our house is 120 years old and these tiles were popular when this house was made! I chose pattern #28 in bright white satin. I cannot stress enough how finished this made our room feel!! Ahhhh!! It’s gorgeous, such great quality and super easy to cut with tin snips! Highly recommend! My weekend project was SO satisfying. 🖤🤍 I left the little lamp on yesterday afternoon + night b/c it was so darn cute! A few take aways.... -paint is a miracle worker -prep is SO important -tape was not my friend in this project so new brushes were important for "cutting in" -yup, if you look closely you will see imperfections but YOLO
