Writing a children’s book to help kids through grief has been a dream of mine for a long time. Holding the first physical copy in my hands felt so surreal. 💛
This book was inspired by my own experience with my boys and missing Justin, but my hope is that it helps any child who is missing someone they love. Creating resources that help families talk about grief and keep their loved one’s memory close is truly what I want to be doing.
It would mean so much to me if this little book could reach the kids who need it.

The National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, @macbarnett , caused a little controversy after saying 94.7% of children’s books are “crud.” 😂
My daughter and I love Mac’s book. I’m not offended in the slightest. I feel it’s a call to make sure I level up!
First, I wondered who decides what crud is?
It should be the kids right?
So, then I wondered if Rosie the Horse made the sacred 5.3%.
If this reel is any indication, I’m gonna let the kids decide. 🤠🐴
Because there is no age group harder to keep the attention span of than a gym full of 4-12 year olds 😂!
Any school I’ve read to can vouch to the fact that the kids have LOVED mine and @krisillus Rosie the Horse books!!
