I strongly believe this message needs to be shared. Since when did having kids become the reason we stop choosing excellence…or the reason we criticize other women for pursuing it? Somewhere along the way, “I have kids” became the expectation that we embrace LESS. But motherhood was never meant to diminish us. With the right voices speaking into our lives, we can absolutely choose something different. When you start looking for it, you see opportunities for excellence everywhere, in the smallest, most ordinary parts of the day. In choosing the dress from your closet that is so lovely, but previously we felt like that day was not good enough for it (WHATTT)!! In selecting the matching pj set over taking your kids to chickfila for the 4th time this month. They can eat a PBJ… it’s probably healthier for them and then you can get a $30 target set that feels cute. And the truth is, the voices we follow online shape the mindset we carry. The way we model motherhood for our daughters is often what they will duplicate. The way we model motherhood for our sons is often what they will look for in the mothers of their children. Healthy homes don’t happen by accident. They’re built by the choices we make every day. What broke my heart most, though, were the comments on this woman’s reel. There were dozens of mothers assuming she must not have children because she talked about excellence. But what if her journey to motherhood ended in a “no” or deep loss? What if those comments unknowingly touched the deepest part of someone’s soul, not in a good way? Kindness costs nothing.
