The Best Part of Our Cleft Journey The best part of our cleft journey has been the strength I’ve found in myself and the advocate I’ve become for my child and others. It has empowered me to help my boy become the best version of himself, teaching him to be both brave and kind. Most importantly, I’m teaching him to love himself. While cleft is a part of him, it doesn’t define who he is. He is strong, smart, cheeky, athletic, kind, and resilient! His cleft has made him even stronger. Through this journey, we’ve both learned the power of resilience and kindness. Ten years ago tell a lot about the story of Ms Ival Joy @realsophisticatedjoy an activist of cleft and palate. When she was young she experienced a hard journey that she has continuously shared to the little ones having any kind of cleft but amidst the failures,frustrations,immense insurance bills and stigmatization by which she was helped many by her motivational talks this helping in resisting the perception of the mirror plus trolls. The day they told me my baby was cleft effected will forever be etched in my mind.. everything went blurry, the immediate fears that came swarming in my mind… since that day I’ve worried over many things that we could potentially be faceing very soon.. I’ve never wavered in the favt that he will be perfect no matter what, hes my boy and that’ll never change, and my love has just grown with every passing day. There is a joirney ahead, but we are so blessed that God chose us to be your parents Asher Judah Wayne💜 Cleft awareness is something very lacking and should be made more aware of.. maybe more people would be more kind if they actually knew.. 1 in every 700 babies are cleft effected, every 3 mins a cleft baby is born, it is not alwqys genetic, it doesn’t mean the parents were to old or on drugs, sometimes it just happens, sometimes its a lack of vitamins, sometimes its because someone in the family was cleft effected. Cleft effected does NOT mean disabled. It does NOT mean they are any less than any other baby. It doesnt make them look like an alien. It doesnt mean they matter less than any orher baby, ot does NOT mean they should be aborted or not have a full life filled with happiness. And it doesnt mean God failed them. July is cleft awareness month, you should start doing research and learning things about Cleft effected babies, children ans adults now so that 1. You can help bring awareness aa well ans 2. Hi my name is moena rashid and 36yrs .. I was born with bilateral cleft lip and palate.. Born with cleft condition is not easy life.. Coz ive been through alot Growing up with people curios about how i looked and would ask alot of question , some hurtful , some not which would almost always embrassed me and make me feel down.. However as i matured, i've become alot more confident coz i realize growing up with cleft by no means is easy but it teaches u soo much !! Be grateful and thankful to the creator alwaz .. WORDS HAVE A GREAT POWER THAT COULD MAKE OR BREAK OTHERS.. I would like to do one LIVE session to share bout my life experience , how to handle wit emotions , build confident , and cleft awareness ..
