Once I leaned into creatin the art I wanted to get paid for I saw MUCH more success compared to when I was trying to do it all (logos, portrait commissions, character design). It was lacking perspective, personality, and clarity.. all things clients want to see! I was terrified of niching down in my illustration out of fear of limiting myself to possibilities, but that is the exact opposite of what happened.
