I'm not a mother but I want to feel included on this trend, and have a little chat about those who are moms. According to the influencer code of conduct, I can rightfully claim I'm a mother. Why? Well a beau's daughters lived with me for a summer. According to influencers, if you do something once, you earn a title. You run once, you're a runner. You write a blog post, you're a writer. You eat a healthy meal, you're a nutritionist... and so on. I cosplayed 'possible stepmom' once, so heck, I'm a Mom...ok, not really. I think mother is a hard-earned title and deserves respect. When I cosplayed Mom, it was to teens, nice girls. The experience made me respect mothers, even more. Even with well behaved kids, who pitched in making dinners etc. GOOD LORD- kids are a lot of work and expensive! The driving. Homework. The scheduling. The grocery bills! The bickering. The boyfriend troubles. Of course you love them but respect to mothers of teens and tweens. I have a question for the mothers of the little ones or medium sized kids, how on earth do you keep up? Seriously? I know you don't have time for naps. Sometimes, my friends that are moms will DM me about my evening workout posts. They say "you're so good. I didn't go to the gym today"... I remind them I wasn't chasing a toddler all day or coordinating the other kids, cleaning up after them, entertaining them, feeding them... then add in the possibility of husband management, then top that off with a career, volunteer work, sports leagues... PLUS the general maintenance of a child!? Dr's appointments, dentist appointments, parent-teacher meetings... and someone always needs new shoes. 😅 Is it thankless? I doubt it. ❤️ When I chat to my mom friends, I always tell the truth. I workout at night because often that's when the quiet hits me. The something is missing. I'd rather workout, make a video than have a glass of wine or feel sad. I love my life. Don't get me wrong. But I have respect for the way others live their lives, especially moms. To always be giving yourself is pretty fu*king honourable. I don't ever want a mom looking at me thinking, hmm that looks better. It's not. It's just different. 🥰
