As someone who aged out of foster care at 18, I cannot express how grateful I am to see Oklahoma moving forward on a bill that would extend foster care services through age 21. This matters. It saves futures.
No young person in foster care chose their circumstances, and turning 18 shouldn’t mean being pushed out without support. Now, as a father, I know firsthand how much guidance, stability, and love our young adults need during those crucial years.
Oklahoma, thank you for leading the way. 💙
To every other state… it’s time to follow. Our youth deserve better. Our future deserves better.
Let’s keep raising our voices and fighting for real change.

I had an incredible time spending the day with young people in and aging out of foster care. These young leaders are resilient, inspiring, and I truly believe many of them will be game changers. #CarChatsWithRob
We’re proud to partner again with Healthy Blue North Carolina and the amazing community at Crossnore Communities for Children, where students packed 55 Comfort Cases for local children entering foster care.
My heart is full. 💙

Imagine the uncertainty of suddenly losing the place you call home. For many youth in foster care, this is a difficult reality.
Between June 30, 2024, and July 1, 2025, our Kindship Care Program supported 462 children in the Miami-Dade County foster care system. This program focuses on keeping youth with family members or close friends to provide stability during difficult times.
By meeting essential needs and providing dedicated advocacy, we help these young people move from surviving to thriving. Every child deserves to feel valued and at home while they build a pathway toward a brighter future.

"We can and should be remembered as some of the most pro-life legislators in the history of the state as we continue to protect the life and safety of these foster children.”
✊🏼 Thank you, brother! Universal childcare is the future. Maine will lead the way. #Solidarity
Most people, when made aware of a need and shown how to step in and help, do just that especially when it comes to children.
We want to care for the vulnerable but often we don't know where to start or the need feels too great compared to what we have to offer.
Mary Perdue became the First Lady of Georgia in the early 2000's when her husband was elected Governor. She used her platform to raise awareness and change the narrative around foster care and help people see there are practical ways they can step in and help.

A Home for Every Child
"By recruiting more foster families, supporting kinship care, and removing barriers that slow foster care processes, we are making our child welfare system stronger and more responsive. It’s another important day in Mississippi," Gov. Tate Reeves said today.
When most people look at foster care, they just see “the system.” But when I look at the men and women opening their homes and their hearts, I don’t see a system—I see the Justice League.
Today, I had the absolute honor of speaking to the incredible families and advocates at the Foster Care Association. To every foster parent navigating the mountains of paperwork, the messy living rooms, and the exhausted nights: I see you, and our community sees you.
You are the ones stepping into the gap. You are the ones doing the heavy lifting to help these children break cycles of trauma and rewrite their futures. Thank you for choosing to be the heroes these kids need.
Keep standing in the gap, and keep doing the work!

The Minns Labor Government is delivering long overdue reforms to the foster care system.
Under the outsourced system we inherited, public funding to non-government providers has increased to $1 billion a year but actual services to kids have declined. And we’ve uncovered providers siphoning public funding away from vulnerable kids.
So we are building a new system where kids come first - and accountability and transparency are non-negotiable.
“I don’t care where I live. Just tell me what the plan is.” 💔
Imagine being a child and having to say those words. Not knowing what tomorrow holds shouldn’t be the norm for any kid, but for many youth in the foster care system, it’s their daily reality.
In this reel, a Mecklenburg foster parent who’s fostered 7 children, shares the profound impact that a lack of permanency has on a child’s entire world. When kids don’t know “the plan,” the anxiety ripples into every part of their lives—affecting their grades, their friendships, their ability to trust, and how they process anger.
Permanency means more than just an address; permanency means belonging. There isn’t just one person holding the answer, but together, as a community, we can put these kids and families at the center of the solution. It is time to advocate for a better way forward. We are calling for Mecklenburg County to create shorter, clearer paths to permanency for our kids.
