This is my method for drawing characters in any pose. I always start with 3 lines. Each line represents a particular area of the body. The first line I usually draw is for the shoulders, then the spine, and then a line for the hips. From there I can draw any pose I want to. If your interested in learning how to draw iconic characters I’m creating a course to teach you how, Just comment “iconic” and I’ll send you a link to the waitlist. The course drops on on August 22, 2026 so stay tuned. #comicartist

The very first comic I ever bought was The Darkness back in 1997… and I immediately fell for bad boy Jackie. 😂🖤 What can I say? Apparently mysterious, dangerous men surrounded by tiny demons were my type. 😈 So when @marc_silvestri of @topcow asked me to create a cover featuring my childhood comic crush, I almost passed out! 😂 Getting to draw Jackie and his Darklings after loving them for all these years was such a full-circle moment for me. They’ll always have a special place in my heart. 🖤 And now I have a limited number of copies of my The Darkness covers available at www.camilladerrico.com! Take this baddie home and enjoy a little extra Darkness this Halloween month. 🎃😈 • • • • #camilladerrico #thedarkness #topcow #comicbookart

Line art is amazing, but color is what makes the magic hit different. 🎨 Ever wonder how we separate the gritty streets of modern Lagos from the supernatural realms in Avonome? Our colorist Rufai Jimoh breaks down his process for creating those glowing energy effects and lighting moments in Avonome. See his amazing work in action. AVONOME #13 is OUT NOW! Guys I think I like Pinkpanthress 🌚 only took years of her popping off for me to catch on 🤪 Anyways here’s me looking disgusted by my horrible evil beast character I designed of my own free will. He’s from my murder mystery story I have floating in my head. Maybe I’ll execute it one day 🤔 * * Tags: #artistsoninsta #oc #artchallenges #characterdesign #comicartist Do NAWT mention the weird cuts and the fact that I only remembered my shading layer was missing after I recorded this.
