✨ Don't under sell yourself: Your price isn’t just for the final image, it's for your years of practice, tools, your style, your problem solving skills, your revisions, your time If someone can’t afford it, that doesn’t mean it’s overpriced, it just means it’s not within their budget. ✨ Always ask for some sort of payment upfront: A deposit protects your time and filters serious clients from possible scams. You’re reserving space in your schedule. That’s valuable. Don't start working until that payment has been processed ✨ It’s okay to enforce your terms: Your commission sheet, contract, or TOS exists for a reason. Revision limits, deadlines, usage rights, etc. These aren’t barriers. They create clarity and prevent resentment on both sides. ✨ You don't own explanations to people you don't want to work with: If a project isn’t aligned with your style, your schedule, or your values, you don’t owe a long apology paragraph. A simple, respectful "I appreciate your interest, but no." is enough. Protecting your energy protects your work. ✨ It’s okay to rest without guilt: Burnout doesn’t make you more productive. Taking breaks doesn’t make you lazy. You are a person before you are a creativity machine (even though we all want to be 🥀) ✨ Always keep some money stashed away before you finish a commission Accidents can happen. You may become unable to finish a commission for whatever reason, so always have a little bit stashed away in order to be able to give a full or partial refund to your clients.
