Never in a million years did l expect this pharmacy page to blow up to 132K followers on Instagram when I started just 1 year ago next week. What started as a passion project in response to the unending misinformation out there has flipped my career on its head. My mission was and remains very simple. 👉To share evidence based health and medicines information. Simply. No fancy pharmaceutical terms. Just no nonsense and straight talking. I see every day the consequences of this misinformation online and enough is enough. 👉This page shares up to the minute research findings. Tips and tricks to navigate through your health journey. From cradle to grave. It really is that simple. I think we have built this amazing community together because you see the misinformation online just like me. You’re a truth seeker. A red flag for me is affiliate codes, sponsored ads or endorsing a product you manufacture. That’s definitely not unbiased even if the product is a good one. Especially from a health care professional in my opinion From the bottom of my heart thank you for trusting me with your most precious gift. Your health 💚 My opinion is not for sale. I will remain unbiased and do the reading & sharing of the literature for you. I’ll also have a bit of fun along the way with you! My guides will remain free as always. One last thing. I’m a full time pharmacist running our family owned community pharmacy. Not an instahun! There is a wonderful professional team behind me in the dispensary with the same ethos and standards. Some are getting brave enough to show their faces soon! Being an independent pharmacy we do things a little differently. Our way. You may even be served throughout the week by one of my family! See can you spot the family resemblances ? Most of all you can have FREE professional advice by just dropping in to us face to face. Or pop in just to say hi! We love meeting the followers of our page! Our door is wide open. Tom the Pharmacist. #pharmacistadvice #balallypharmacy #communitypharmacy #healthinfluencer #irishpharmacist
THE COMMUNITY PHARMACY PLAYBOOK | Episode 3 - “We’ve Always Done It This Way” 🚨 The most dangerous phrase in community pharmacy isn’t a drug name, an SOP, or a dispensing label. It’s: “We’ve always done it this way.” The best pharmacy teams regularly challenge processes, identify inefficiencies, and look for opportunities to improve patient safety. Tradition isn’t a substitute for good practice. When was the last time you challenged a process in your pharmacy and improved it? 👇#pharmacist #pharmacy #pharmacylife #pharmacystudent #communitypharmacy
Antibiotics are not sachet snacks. Under-dosing today is tomorrow’s “why is it not working anymore?” moment. #AntibioticResistance #CommunityPharmacy #PublicHealthAwareness #PharmacistLife #UseAntibioticsWisely
Professional services don’t grow because we put them on a menu. They grow when we change how we practise pharmacy. Ask one more question. Look beyond the transaction. See the person. Create the opportunity for care. That’s the mindset shift. #pharmacy #professionalservices #communitypharmacy #patientcare #thesoulofhealthcare

A specification should guide your team — not stop them from thinking. I often compare this to Google Maps. Google Maps can give you a route, but if you know there’s roadworks, potholes or a road closure ahead, you use your judgement rather than blindly following the instructions. The same principle applies in pharmacy. Staff need to understand the specification, but they also need to understand when and how to apply it in the real world. Because ultimately, the goal isn’t simply to follow a process. The goal is to deliver the right service and protect the patient. #Pharmacy #CommunityPharmacy #PatientSafety #ClinicalGovernance #PharmacyManagement Healthcare

Think you know what 90 capsules looks like? 👀💊 We put our pharmacy team to the test and challenged them to pour as close to 90 capsules as possible using the Eyecon.   The Eyecon is an automated prescription counting system that uses imaging technology to quickly count tablets and capsules, helping pharmacies improve accuracy and efficiency.#pharmacy #communitypharmacy #kelleyross #pharmacyfun

I wasn’t able to attend today’s debate on the future of our pharmacies because of delays to my journey caused by the Tube strike. But I wasn’t going to let that pass without speaking up. Community pharmacies in Bolton South and Walkden are under real pressure. Independent owners are dealing with years of underfunding, rising costs and a contract that simply does not reflect what it costs to run these vital services. Some have already closed. The Government’s £340 million deal and the move to independent prescribing are steps in the right direction. But more needs to be done. If you’re a pharmacy owner or a patient who wants to get in touch, please do. #boltonsouthandwalkden #communitypharmacy #nhs
