GUIDE TIPS FOR TOURISTS 🥰
This is a useful tips section. I’ll try to outline the key and most important aspects of life in Paris for you ♥️
🏠 ACCOMMODATION:
I recommend staying in Paris, preferably in the city center if possible. This will save you time on transportation and allow you to walk around and enjoy the city more 😍
🏘️ NEIGHBORHOODS:
Consider booking a hotel or Airbnb in districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 — they are very close to the center and relatively safe. Districts 8, 9, 10, and 11 are also good, but I advise avoiding areas directly next to the Gare de l’Est and Gare du Nord stations.
🍽️ RESTAURANTS AND CAFÉS:
It’s best to check guides or recommendations in advance to avoid tourist traps where it’s expensive and not very tasty.
I also rely on visual cues — I assess the interior and the crowd. If there are many locals and the place looks cozy, I go in.
🖼️ MUSEUMS:
Remember, I have a list of free museums — there are many in Paris, and they are interesting and worth visiting. However, some must-visits are the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance and being mentally prepared for queues at the entrance 🙌🏻
🗼 EIFFEL TOWER:
If visiting the tower is important to you, please try to buy tickets well in advance — about 3 months before your planned visit. Otherwise, you’ll either have to endure a huge queue or buy from intermediaries at triple the price (around €75 instead of €25).
‼️ BE ALERT:
Just like in any major city, Paris has pickpockets, especially in tourist areas, as well as scammers. Don’t sign anything, don’t let anyone tie a “free” bracelet around your wrist, and I wouldn’t recommend giving money to beggars either — France has well-developed social services.
‼️‼️ Be cautious when buying tickets: Only use trusted websites. There’s been an increase in counterfeit tickets recently 🥺
That’s it for now! Let me know if this was helpful, and feel free to ask questions 🥰🙌🏻

Paris is one of those cities that stays with you long after you leave. And the more you learn about it the more obsessed you get. So let me tell you what most people don't know before visiting.
Let's start with something surprising.
Paris has absolutely zero stop signs. The whole city removed the last one in 2016 and just decided to trust everyone on the road. So Parisian traffic is exactly as chaotic as you are imagining right now. I was in a cab for what should have been a 26 minute drive and spent close to two hours on that road. The driver was completely unbothered. Meanwhile I was sitting in the back rethinking all my life decisions. 😭😂
The Eiffel Tower is not actually the most visited monument in Paris. Notre Dame Cathedral takes the top spot, followed by Sacré-Coeur Basilica and then the Louvre. The tower everyone flies to Paris for is sitting at number 4
Speaking of the Louvre, if you spent 30 seconds looking at each of the 35,000 works on display it would take you 100 days to get through them all. 100 days. So yes, one afternoon is simply not enough. Bring snacks, comfortable shoes and accept that you might get lost 😂
Paris has over 300,000 dogs. Walk down any street and you will almost always spot at least a couple of very pampered dogs being treated like royalty. Parisians really love their dogs and after seeing it firsthand I completely understand why 😂
And underneath all the beauty, the cafes and the croissants, stretching 322 kilometres beneath the city streets are the Paris Catacombs, home to the remains of over 6 million people. You are literally walking over history every single step you take in Paris. That alone is wild to think about.
Paris is not just a destination. It is a whole experience that keeps surprising you💗
Save this before your next trip to Paris.

Why Smart Travelers Visit Paris on the First Weekend of the Month
If you’re planning a Paris trip around art, museums, and culture — here’s a timing trick that can save you serious money 👇
On the first Sunday of every month, many of Paris’ most iconic museums offer free admission. That means more masterpieces, less spent.
🎨 Musée de l’Orangerie
See Monet’s Water Lilies without the ticket price. It’s one of the most peaceful museum experiences in the city — and completely free that Sunday.
🖼️ Musée d’Orsay
Home to world-famous Impressionist works (think Monet, Degas, Van Gogh). Free on the first Sunday — but you must reserve a timed entry in advance.
🌿 Musée Rodin (October–March)
Winter travelers win here. From October through March, first-Sunday entry is free — including access to the sculpture garden.
🖌️ Musée National Picasso-Paris
Another major collection that participates in first-Sunday free admission. Book ahead — these slots go fast.
🗿 Louvre Museum — First Friday Evenings
On the first Friday of each month (6–9pm), the Louvre offers free entry for everyone. It’s one of the rare chances to see the Mona Lisa without paying — just note this doesn’t run in July or August, and reservations are required.
✨ Smart tip: Expect larger crowds on free days. Go early, book timed entries as soon as they’re released, and prioritize 1–2 museums instead of trying to do them all.
Smart planning = more art, less money spent.

Your guide in Paris,
Masha
Largest museum in the world. Three hours. Zero stress.
Today we explored the Louvre Museum in Paris, and if there’s one thing to know before visiting, it’s this: you cannot do the Louvre in one visit, and you shouldn’t try.
The smart way to see the Louvre is to skip the lines, enter with a plan, and focus on the highlights instead of wandering aimlessly through thousands of rooms. With a guided visit, you learn how the museum is laid out, which wings matter most for first timers, and how to move efficiently through the space without doubling back or missing key works.
We went straight to the essentials, including the Mona Lisa, where our guide Monica timed it perfectly so we could get right to the front without the chaos. Along the way, she explained pieces like the Venus de Milo in a way that made the art feel intuitive instead of overwhelming.
We even stepped into the gallery where the French crown jewels were stolen, mixing recent history with centuries old masterpieces.
Finished the visit the right way, with a macaron in hand.
If you want to visit the Louvre without wasting time, energy, or patience, this is how to do it. The Tour Guy is Europe’s most trusted and reliable tour operator, and we’ve got plenty more stories to tell.
I HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A GUIDE FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS AND I ALWAYS ADVISE MY TOURISTS THIS ROUTE🌹📍🇫🇷
If you only have one day in Paris and want to see the highlights — here’s the perfect itinerary:
Start with Notre-Dame de Paris — the heart of Paris. Even seeing it from the outside already gives you a sense of its scale and history. Just a few minutes away is Sainte-Chapelle — home to some of the most beautiful stained-glass windows in Europe.
Next, head to the Latin Quarter: narrow medieval streets, the Sorbonne, and the lively atmosphere of the old city. From here, it’s a pleasant walk to the Luxembourg Gardens — a perfect place to pause and feel that distinctive Parisian rhythm.
Then make your way to the Louvre. You can go inside for 1.5–2 hours to see the main masterpieces, or simply admire the exterior and learn about the palace’s history. After the Louvre, continue your walk through the Tuileries Garden — one of the most beautiful and most Instagram-worthy gardens in the city center.
From there, it makes sense to walk along the Seine toward the Eiffel Tower.
It’s best to arrive closer to sunset — the city is especially beautiful at that time.
The perfect way to end the day is with a river cruise on the Seine.
Paris in the evening, seen from the water, feels completely different: the lights, the bridges, the reflections on the river.
This itinerary allows you to see the maximum in just one day ♥️🇫🇷

As a Parisian, I finally subjected myself to your basic tourist traps to see what the hype was about. My verdict? Half your bucket list is a claustrophobic scam, but a few spots actually don’t suck.
Here are the 3 brutal truths you need to know:
• Get buzzed before noon: Champagne tours (9/10) and wine tastings (8/10) are the peak of French tourism. Sipping a special edition GH Mumm at 11:00 AM while quietly judging tourists who don’t know their wines? Priceless.
• Stay outside the monuments: Versailles (7/10) and Mont Saint-Michel (4/10) are sweaty, overcrowded nightmares inside. The real hack? Stick strictly to the Versailles gardens, take your photo of Mont Saint-Michel from the bridge, and leave.
• Invest in skills, not souvenirs: A local pastry cooking class (10/10) will actually change your life. You can’t eat a cheap keychain when you get back home.
Which popular tourist spot do you secretly hate? Argue with me in the comments 🍷
Save this so you don’t waste your Euros, and follow for more unfiltered travel truths.
