Kerry this Friday in Glenduff Manor and on Saturday we’re in County Clare in Milltown Malbay ❤️
Today, we are delighted to launch ‘Peatlands in Practice’, our new, community led peatland restoration project based at our 50 acres site here at The Common Knowledge centre in Kilfenora, County Clare.
Over the next 6 months, we will work with ecologists, educators, cultural practitioners, and local communities to restore degraded peatland habitats through free hands-on ecosystem restoration education, and together we will learn how to appreciate the beauty of bogs and the importance of restoring them. Peatlands are amongst the most important ecosystems on Earth. They store vast amounts of carbon, regulate water systems, and support unique biodiversity by providing habitat to an abundance of flora and fauna.
This project invites people to directly take part in peatland restoration, reconnecting with the living landscapes shaped by both nature and culture. To find out more and to book your free space on one of the upcoming events visit the link in our bio.
Thank you to the @npwsireland and @theheritagecouncil for sponsoring this project.

West Coast Wanderin’
Our drive around the beautiful coast of Ireland has brought us to Lahinch, a small seaside town in County Clare with a lot of personality. @alanoshea13 hasn’t been here for 44 years (and it rained rather a lot in the summer of 1982 apparently)!
But the sun was very much shining on the righteous (ahem) when we arrived and we had the most gorgeous evening, bathed in the pink and orange Atlantic sunset.
You have got to get yourselves over here. It’s quite simply stunning. Loving everything about @thewildatlanticway so far and we’re looking forward to the next stretch!

One mountain. Four moods. One Irish day.
8am - gold.
12pm - a rainbow.
4pm - bare limestone under blue skies.
8pm - the whole mountain on fire.
And it never moved an inch.
Living in the Burren has taught me that sometimes you don’t need to go anywhere to find a different view. You just have to look again a few hours later.
Perhaps this is another way of romanticising life - noticing how many versions of the same ordinary place a single day can give you.
Ireland really does change the set when you’re not looking. ☘️🎬

At Caherconnell Fort, you don’t just watch sheep herding - you experience it.
Step into this ancient stone fort, and see some of Ireland’s most skilled sheepdogs in action. Sally knows exactly what she’s doing, rounding up the flock with speed, precision, and a clear love for the job. It’s a tradition passed down through generations, right here in the heart of the Burren. 🐕
