One of my favorite editorial makeup tools isn’t even makeup! 😍
Why use stencils?
1. (Near) PERFECTION
Editorial makeup often relies on extremely precise lines and shapes. Stencil stickers allow you to create crisp graphic edges in seconds without losing that clean editorial finish.
2. TIME.
On set, time is always VERY limited. I applaud everyone who can do this freehand, but ain’t nobody got time for that on a photoshoot 🥲
3. CONSISTENCY
They allow you to repeat a design perfectly.
When you need the same motif on both eyes, across the face, or on multiple models, stencils help maintain consistency and symmetry without having to redraw everything from scratch.
4. UNLIMITED TEXTURE
They help create bold editorial textures and layers.
Instead of just blending makeup, stencils allow you to play with negative space, patterns, and layered pigments to create visuals that feel more graphic and fashion-forward.
