While exploring South Africa, I carried a portable scanner and captured colorful walls, maps, packaging, tickets, textures, patterns, and tiny details that most people walk right past. Now I get to print those scans and use them as backgrounds for my scrapbook pages, junk journals, travel journals, and mixed media art projects. It felt like a creative scavenger hunt the entire trip. Every street became a source of inspiration, and I found myself constantly searching for interesting colors, textures, and paper treasures to scan. This little scanner has become one of my favorite travel craft supplies. After a long flight—and the last leg of our trip being canceled—we finally made it to Germany! 🇩🇪 It’s been SO much fun so far. I have lots of adventures to share, but for now… Hallo from the Brandenburg Gate! So, why Germany? My husband has been given an amazing opportunity to take a three-year research position here, which will be a wonderful jump-start to this next chapter of his career. Our primary home will stay in California, but Germany is going to become a much more regular part of our lives. He’ll be living and working here, and we’ll be making several trips back and forth each year.
