We love getting students onto the reef and showing them why corals matter! 🐟🪸
This past week, we took a group of 7th and 8th grade students from Basisschool de Pelikaan on a snorkel tour of our nurseries and outplanting sites at Buddy’s Reef. The tour is part of our educational partnership with Pelikaan, which starts with an in-class presentation on coral restoration in Bonaire and ends in the water— giving students the chance to experience firsthand everything they’ve learned.
This week was extra special, as we were joined by the NOS production team. Stay tuned for @nosjeugdjournaal ‘s upcoming storing featuring interviews with students sharing why coral restoration matters to them!

Shete Boka National Park plays an important role in protecting sea turtles.

🎨 Kunstvissen met een boodschap! 🐟✨
Tijdens handvaardigheid met @juf.nouk zijn de kinderen aan de slag gegaan met een bijzonder project: kunstvissen maken van wasmiddelflessen! Met karton, plastic en papier-maché hebben ze hun eigen vis bedacht, vormgegeven en geverfd. Maar het mooiste? Elke vis heeft een eigen boodschap voor de wereld!
🐠 Vis Frederik vindt het niet leuk dat er op hem gejaagd wordt.
🌊 Vis Harry wil graag meer koraal onderwater.
🏠 Junior XL droomt van leuke huizen onderwater.
🧡 Pietje BlobVis roept op: Wees aardig voor elkaar, voor de natuur en voor het water.
🍗 Vis Bertus wil een onderwater KFC.
🕊️ Vis Wave houdt van vrede en vindt het niet fijn als vissen ruzie hebben of als een haai een vis eet.
🍕 Vis Bram is pizzabezorger voor alle vissen zonder huis en geld.

Afgelopen week startte @vandewaetere_joachim met zijn stage in het derde kleuter.
Hij had dit leuke schildpaddenschild mee.
Gemaakt van karton én een echte hit in de klas! 🐢
