The one question corporations always ask before taking on debt.
After almost 30 years managing money and Treasury for global corporations, I learned the test that decides whether debt builds wealth or destroys it: will this debt pay me back?
Despite decades of Treasury training, I still made the wrong call on debt in my own life more than once, through unexpected life events like helping family, medical expenses, and caregiving for an ill parent. Knowing the math and living it under pressure are two very different things. There were times it felt like I would never recover, but it is possible.
Good debt:
🏠 A mortgage builds 212,956 in equity over 10 years, even after paying 193,998 in interest.
🎓 A student loan costs 54,235 financed at 6.39 percent, but a bachelor's degree returns a 1.1 million lifetime earnings premium per Georgetown CEW data.
Bad debt:
😲 A 15,000 credit card balance at 24 percent APR costs 43,887 total and takes nearly 29 years if you only pay the minimum.
🚗 A 38,000 new car loan leaves you 2,304 underwater after year one alone.
Regardless of what life throws at you, it is possible to recover and turn things around with the right debt payoff strategy.

Want higher credit card limits? Your credit score isn’t the only thing lenders look at.
When you apply for a credit card, the information you enter can play a major role in the outcome. Your income, housing status, employment, existing credit profile, debt-to-income ratio, and overall financial picture all help lenders determine whether you’re approved and what credit limit you may receive.
The problem is that most people rush through applications without understanding what banks are actually evaluating. One mistake can lead to lower limits, unnecessary denials, or extra hard inquiries.
💳 In this video, I break down what lenders typically look for on a credit card application and how to present your financial profile as accurately and effectively as possible before you apply.
A few minutes of preparation can make a huge difference in your approval odds.
👇 Comment “BOSS” and I’ll help you build a stronger credit profile, improve your approval strategy, and maximize your chances of qualifying for higher credit limits.

Mortgage brokers, what did I miss? 😂😭
Once you’re pre-approved, please don’t make any major financial moves without talking to your loan officer first—not even if the credit card has really good points. 👀
New debt, large money transfers, job changes, and missing documents can all delay your closing or change what you qualify for.
The goal isn’t to ruin your fun—it’s to get you to the closing table without any last-minute surprises. 🏡🔑
Save this for when you’re ready to buy, and send it to a friend who needs the reminder!

Seriously though… When we were on the other side of job loss for a year and staring at multi-5-figure credit card debt, and God told us to get out of it like our lives depended on it, this girl paid attention!
Maybe it has to do with being a God-fearing woman or being a first-born daughter or a firstborn granddaughter…
but I knew we needed to make some changes or else carry that debt into our old age leaving it as a legacy for our children.
So we took the steps we needed, including creating a MONTHLY zero-based budget 📈
This wasn’t glamorous or a quick fix, but within 2 years we paid off that cc debt!
IMPORTANT TIP: The most overlooked step is creating a cushion.
The truth is, every unexpected expense you put on a credit card makes the next emergency even more expensive!
We didn’t want our only option to be the credit card!
Creating a $1K emergency fund as a small cushion was powerful! It was exactly what we needed!
✅ It broke the cycle of charge now, pay later
✅ It gave us breathing room
✅ It allowed our debt payoff plan to actually work
That’s why I created a FREE $1K Emergency Fund Chart to help motivate you to start eliminating your credit card debt!
The FIRST STEP is building your cushion!

DON’T let money sit in checking earning nada when it could be working for you.
DO throw extra at credit card debt. That interest tracks the Fed, and the Fed is frozen.
DON’T take a new variable-rate loan assuming relief is coming. It isn’t.
DO move high-interest variable debt to a fixed rate so a hike can’t touch it.
Happy Fed Eve…

Whenever I think of debt instead of looking at the massive number I have to pay
I try to break it down to a smaller number helps motivate me and make the number feel like I can reach it
Obviously this doesn’t take into account interest that is accrued over time however if you look at it like this and make weekly small payments you will pay it off faster and you will end up paying way less interest
Making the minimum payments on your debt makes you a slave to these credit card or loan companies
These companies are not your friends get rid of them as fast as you can even if you’re making a small payment each week it adds up and helps you get out of the whole quicker
All of this time you’re thinking up a plan of how to attack it you’re wasting time just start throwing money at it no matter how small and that alone will take you farther then devising up an amazing plan that doesn’t get executed
Three and a half years ago, my wife and I started Door Dashing after work to make an extra $200 a week and chip away at credit card debt.
We worked nights and weekends for nine months—through rain, exhaustion, and plenty of moments when quitting would’ve been easier.
What happened instead 👇
We averaged $450–$550 a week, paid off $25K in credit cards in JUST 9 MONTHS (we also saved on bills that we used towards the debt payoff...traded to a less expensive vehicle, cut subscriptions, etc.),
And we were blessed to continue the momentum with a second job in which we paid off both our vehicles as well just 19 months after starting side gig work!
We haven’t Door Dashed since then three years ago, and this is NOT a post promoting it. It's Not for everyone.
👉 It’s a reminder that sometimes the first step doesn’t have to be glamorous.
That season helped us take control, support people we love, and prove that small actions repeated consistently can completely change your life.
You may not need to deliver food. But you may need to stop waiting for the perfect answer and start with the move you can make right now.
Your future—and the people who depend on you—are worth the effort.
✨ Follow for real stories, mindset shifts, and reminders that you are more capable than you think.

Being financially successful doesn’t always look flashy.
Sometimes it looks like a paid-off car, money quietly growing, no credit card debt, and the ability to handle an emergency without panicking.
You might not feel rich yet—but you’re doing better than you think. 💰
Which one are you working on next?
#MoneyGoals #FinancialFreedom #BuildWealth #PersonalFinance #FYP
on paper i owe $334,000. more than i’ve saved, more than i’ve invested. by every internet metric, i should be panicking. i’m not. and here’s the part the screenshot doesn’t show you.
almost all of that debt is my mortgage. it’s not a hole i’m in. it’s a house i’m buying, one that’s already handed me $115k in equity.
here’s the thing i wish more people understood: not all debt is the same. a mortgage on a home that’s building equity is not a maxed out credit card. and the snapshot lies. the trajectory tells the truth. that $290k invested? left completely alone at ~7%, it’s ~$570k by 41 and over $1M by 51. i don’t have to add a dollar. time does the work.
5 things that actually moved my net worth (save this one):
→ track net worth, not your paycheck. income feels like progress. net worth is progress. i update mine monthly and it’s the only number that tells me the truth about where i’m headed.
→ separate good debt from bad debt. debt tied to an appreciating asset (a home, sometimes) plays a totally different role than a 24% credit card. don’t panic at a total. panic at an interest rate.
→ pay yourself first, automatically. the money i invest leaves my checking before i can touch it. i never “find money to invest.” it’s already gone before i see it. willpower is unreliable. automation isn’t.
→ let time compound before you obsess over returns. the $290k number isn’t impressive because i picked winners. it’s impressive because i started early and left it alone. boring and consistent beats clever and sporadic every time.
→ build the buffer so you never sell in a panic. that savings line ($39k) is what lets my investments stay invested through every scary headline. a cash cushion isn’t lazy money. it’s what protects the money that’s actually growing.
you don’t build wealth by having zero debt. you build it by owning things that grow faster than what you owe.
which of these do you already do, and which one are you starting this month? ⬇️

Trust me it’s not a coincidence. If you’re new here, hi, I’m Savanna.
Two years ago I decided to stop waiting for the “perfect time” and finally build something of my own.
At the time I was working two jobs I hated, drowning in credit card debt, numbing pain I didn’t know how to face, and watching other people create lives that looked impossible to me.
I kept asking myself how do they do it? Why not me?
The truth is I didn’t have a perfect plan.
I didn’t have thousands of followers.
I wasn’t an expert.
I just decided that staying where I was scared me more than starting.
So I started posting.
Some days my videos got a few hundred views.
Some days I wanted to quit because I felt embarrassed.
But I kept showing up anyway.
Now I run my entire business from my phone, I’m boarding a one way flight to Bali with no return date, and I’m building income that funds the gospel across the nations.
Not because I’m the smartest person in the room.
Not because I had everything figured out.
But because I was willing to start before I felt ready.
The biggest thing I’ve gained isn’t the followers or the income. It’s proving to myself that I was capable of creating a life I once thought only existed for other people.
If you’re waiting until you feel confident…
Until you know exactly what you’re doing…
Or until everything is perfect…
This is your reminder that those things come after you start. Not before.
Maybe this video found you for a reason. 🤍
Comment “FREEDOM” and I’ll send you the first steps that helped me build income from my phone as a complete beginner.✨💃🏼🫶🏼❤️🔥📲🦋
“I’m 42… and I’m sitting on ₹55 lakh of debt.”
₹9L credit card dues (30–40% interest)
₹31L personal loans (14–18%)
₹15L car loan (8–10%)
Total: ₹55,00,000
At 42, the stress hits differently.
Family responsibilities. Children’s education. Parents’ health.
And EMIs that don’t stop.
Let’s remove emotion and look at the math.
If you want to clear ₹55 lakh in 4 years,
you must pay roughly ₹1.5 lakh per month toward debt (including interest).
If monthly household expenses are ₹80,000,
your income should be at least ₹2.3–2.5 lakh per month.
If income is ₹1.8L?
Timeline stretches to 5–6 years.
If income increases to ₹3L?
You can be debt-free in 3 years or less.
This isn’t about motivation.
It’s about numbers + discipline.
Here’s the recovery framework:
• Stop all new borrowing immediately
• Convert credit card debt into lower-interest loan
• Use debt avalanche method (highest interest first)
• Build ₹1–2L emergency fund
• Increase income aggressively for 24–36 months
• Pause luxury spending
At 42, you still have strong earning years ahead.
This can be your financial reset — if you act now.
If you’re struggling with:
Credit card debt
Personal loan burden
High EMIs
Financial stress in your 40s
Late financial planning
