Today at Lake Aquitaine, we’re adding new fish like Brook Trout! We use a special truck to release them into the lake. This usually happens in spring when the ice melts, as the water is oxygen-rich and less stressful for the fish. Stocking fish helps keep the lake’s ecosystem healthy and thriving. Lake Aquitaine plays a crucial role in filtering run-off from nearby areas, ensuring the Credit River receives cleaner water. We've lived in Port Credit for many years and this is the first time we've gone for a walk ON the Credit River! It's completely frozen over between Lakeshore Road and the QEW. We went for a stroll on the river, under bridges, and saw a new side to our hometown. There were people out there snowshoeing, skiing, and playing hockey on small rinks.
