It was 2021. In the wake of Covid & George Floyd, the crochet community was ablaze with liberal passion. I had played along for awhile, even posted a black square, because frankly, I was scared of being cancelled. But in 2021, I was so over it, so I made a post that basically said the following: - I am a conservative Christian - I believe abortion is wrong - God created marriage to be between a man & a woman. Ohhh boy! As you can imagine, the crochet community CAME for me. I was called horrible derogatory names. I lost internet friends who I legitimately loved interacting with. And I even had a design cancelled from being in a crochet magazine. I have learned so much since then, and since Charlie Kirk’s death I’ve only been further emboldened. I assume in posting this I will get many of the same comments and lose a lot more followers, but I legitimately don’t care. I’m on a mission now - to find other conservatives in the crochet space and tell you: YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There are very few voices standing up for truth in our crochet space. It doesn’t matter. I will not hide, and I invite you to join me. P.S. I will engage in respectful discussion in the comments with those who disagree, but I will not be responding to hateful or accusatory comments. #conservative #crocheter #christiancrochet
