Will never gatekeep a good skin snack 🤭 healthy gut is key
Your skincare routine matters.
But let’s talk about the foundation.
You can have the most incredible “paint” aka the serums, the creams, the masks, the glow, but if the foundation underneath isn’t solid, it won’t last. Building healthy skin is just like building a house. The paint looks beautiful, but the strength comes from what’s underneath.
That’s where gut health comes in.
What’s happening internally will always show externally. Inflammation, nutrient absorption, hydration, hormone balance. Your skin reflects it all. You can’t out-serum a struggling gut. True radiance is built from the inside out.
For me, it’s both.
A consistent skincare routine on the outside… and intentional gut support on the inside.
Because when the foundation is strong, the glow hits different.
Clean skincare | gut health | inflammation | acne | aging | 36 | age in reverse | skincare routine | affordable skincare
What we put in our body is just as important as what we put on our skin. You could be using the absolute best products, but if your gut is a mess those products won’t be able to perform as they should… because the issue isn’t surface level.
You know what changed my skin?
Not a $300 serum.
Not a facial.
Not a laser.
Protein.
Complex carbs.
Healthy fats.
Meaningful vegetables.
Next-level hydration.
When I started feeding my body what it actually needed,
my skin got the memo.
More bounce.
More glow.
Less “why do I look tired?”
And here’s the kicker —
my skincare started working better.
Because glow isn’t something you apply.
It’s something you build.
Eat your skincare.
Then layer the fancy stuff. ✨🔥
Let’s be honest — many of us coming from Indian families were never really taught how to take care of ourselves.
Self-care, skincare, dental care — it’s something we’ve had to learn on our own over time. It wasn’t always part of our growing-up routine, and I know so many of you will relate to this.
So let me take you straight to the facts I’ve learned along the way 👇
Firstly — it’s never too late to start. Believe me, consistency is everything. Just like weight loss or self-care — if you stay consistent, results will show. But you have to be patient and trust the process.
Secondly — you can’t fix your body or skin only externally. You have to work internally too. Good multivitamins, nutritious food, proper water intake — all of this plays a huge role. Along with that, taking your collagen is equally important because real skin strength and elasticity start from within. Of course, genes matter… but when 50% is in your control, you can definitely see positive changes in your body and skin.
Third — never ever sleep with makeup on. No matter how tired you are, always clean your face before sleeping.
Also, I’ll be very honest — I feel using very little makeup has really helped my skin breathe. I’m not someone who keeps layers of makeup on all the time, and I genuinely think that has made a difference.
Detox teas and homemade drinks have also helped me a lot in detoxing my body from within.
And one more thing I’ve learned — overwashing your face is not good. It actually dries out your skin more than it helps.
And lastly — please note, glass skin is such a myth. Don’t get carried away by social media or young influencers constantly talking about it. It’s not real life. Some people are naturally blessed, yes — but many times layers of products are applied just to create that one-minute glow on screen. It doesn’t work like that in reality.
Honestly — when you meet people in real life, how many actually have “glass skin”? Let’s be real.
So choose real skin over fake skin. Always.
psa: your skincare routine isn’t your skincare routine.
if you’re not doing these three things, you’re missing out:
• sweating every day: movement increases circulation, which delivers oxygen + nutrients to the skin. sweating also supports detox pathways + gives me that super natural glow. it only takes 10-15 minutes of intentional movement to make a difference.
• consuming collagen: i use the @onequince unflavored version. collagen provides the amino acids glycine, proline + hydroxyproline that support skin elasticity, hydration + overall structure. after our mid-20s, natural collagen production declines, so being consistent matters. this flavor-less option can be added to anything: tea, coffee, oatmeal, soups.
• eating real food: whole foods provide vitamins, minerals + antioxidants that directly impact skin health. think vitamin c for collagen synthesis, zinc for repair, healthy fats for barrier support. you need enough protein + fiber to provide the building blocks (amino acids) your body uses to repair + build skin tissue. your skin cells are literally built from what you eat.
i still love a good (homemade) face oil— but healthy skin starts internally. your skin is a reflection of what’s happening inside. always.

What skincare actually is: whatever you’ve been eating all week 🫐🥑🥥🫒🍠🍳🥩🍣🥕🥦🍋🧅🧄
Your skin is constantly replacing itself, and it builds new cells using nutrients from your food.
Protein → repairs + supports collagen
Omega-3 fats → stronger skin barrier + less dryness (supports barrier and makes you skin look hydrated & glowy)
Vitamin C foods → helps collagen formation + brightness
Vitamin A foods → supports cell turnover
Zinc → helps calm breakouts + healing
Water → keeps skin looking plump instead of flat
If you want clear + glowy skin, I promise you the answer is not found in a bottle, it’s found on your plate!
Are spending $300 every month in Sephora??? You are doing it wrong!!!
