Our top 3 turn secrets‼️⬇️ Looking to take your seconde turns to the next level?! Think about these 3 tips & tricks that we mainly focus on when breaking down out turns: 1. Let your port de bras help ELONGATE you! Don’t think about only “placing” it. Use it to help with elongation and overall lift! 2. Use your working leg to help with momentum! Try to not stop it at each “picture” moment, but rather allow it so help with your overall circular momentum. 3. Fight to keep your spine and core lifted to maintain vertical alignment! Think of these things next time you’re working on your seconde turns and let’s continue dominating our technique together ♥️🖤 • • • • #dancersofinstagram #dancetraining #danceclass #coaching #dancers
Part 2 ✨⭐ Dance Audition Tips ⭐✨ 1. Show your RANGE + stay connected ⭐ The audition was for heels, but you’re an amazing hip-hop dancer? - Highlight your versatility through social media/portfolio (add the link to your resume). And stay in touch with choreographers, dancers, and casting directors! 2. Energy is EVERYTHING ⭐ It’s not just how you dance—it’s how you talk, walk, sit, and wait. Be present, positive, and ready at all times ✨ Never show that you’re tired, upset, angry or stressed. 3. Mindset matters ⭐ It’s about the fit, not just skill. Protect your energy, don’t tie rejection to your worth, and remember: you only need ONE yes ✨(I actually can expand a LOT on this one, should we do another post?) 4. Build adjacent skills ⭐ Acting, acro, modeling, yoga, even learning languages. More skills = more opportunities ✨ 5. Be prepared ⭐ Keep an audition bag: ✨ Safety pins, hair ties, gel/spray, Bobby pins, scissors, etc ✨ Socks, shoes, outfit options ✨ Resumes + headshots (8x10 photo paper for headshots, A4 for resumes, neatly clipped or stapled) Pack it the night before and double-check in the morning—it makes everything smoother and less stressful ✨ Bonus Tip! 💕 Ask yourself questions: 📝What is your intention for this audition? Are you going for the experience, for fun, to get a job? Why do you think you should be the one who passes? What makes you a perfect fit? Online training is harder… and that’s why it works 🔥 - And that’s exactly why it works. When a teacher isn’t standing next to you physically placing your body into position, you have to learn how to listen to your body, understand the correction, and apply it yourself. That’s where real technique, control, and body awareness develop. For the past 7 years, we’ve been teaching dancers and athletes from all over the world online — and the results have been incredible. In this video you see Sylvie Win, who has been training with us for many years. Her dedication and hard work are a perfect example of what consistency can do. Just like with so many of our students around the world 🌎 ✨ Want to train with us? Why do you keep falling out of your turns? It’s not random, there is more you can be doing to ensure clean turns every time. Let’s fix it. 🌪️ Here are 3 common reasons you’re losing your turns and exactly how to clean them up! 1. You’re not truly stacked over your standing leg. If your weight is even slightly off, your center can’t hold. Fix it: Before you turn, pause and check your alignment: hips over heel, ribs closed, core lifted. Think up before you think around. 2. Your core isn’t fully engaged. Turns don’t come from momentum alone, they come from control. Fix it: Engage your deep core before you push off. Imagine cinching a corset around your waist and lifting out of your supporting leg the entire time. 3. Your arms are disconnected or inconsistent. Loose or delayed arms will throw off your rotation every time. Fix it: Set your arms with intention and bring them in sharply to first. No floating. No hesitation. Your arms should arrive exactly when your turn begins. Clean turns aren’t about forcing more rotations, they’re about mastering the details that keep you centered. Save this, apply it, and watch your turns completely change. #danceteicks #dancetraining #turns #danceteacher #dancetips
Corrections are not criticism… they’re opportunities! The dancers who grow the most are the ones who listen, apply it, and keep pushing! When a teacher gives you a correction, it’s because they see your potential. 💫 Your answer will tell you what type of dancer you are. Regardless, being aware is key! 🔑 If you answered A or D — you’re probably focused, coachable, and hungry to grow. Those are the dancers that improve the fastest. Keep that mindset. 👏🏽✨ If you answered B or C — you might be getting in your own way. Getting upset or making excuses can stop your progress before it even starts. So be honest…Which one are you? 👀🧐 Comment A, B, C, or D ⬇️ #coachlexx #dancermindset #dance #dancetraining #dancecoach
