Our hearts are heavy, but we hold onto hope even in the darkest of times.
Like so many members of the Hamfounder family and millions within the global Iranian diaspora, I am entering the third week of a complete communications blackout from loved ones back home.
This year, we cannot even send a simple Nowruz greeting to our families in Iran. Yet, we remain firm in the belief that light will eventually overcome darkness. Just as the harshest winter must give way to the arrival of Spring, we know that renewal is inevitable.
We stay strong, and we look forward to the day we celebrate a free Iran together.
Nowruz Pirouz to everyone.

𝗜𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟱𝟴𝟱 arrives with heavy hearts.
For many Iranians, this new year is not a season of simple celebration. It is a season of national grief for the 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 40,000 𝘐𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 we mourn, for the pain imposed on our motherland, and for the wounds the Islamic regime continues to inflict on our people.
And still, 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 ❤️🩹🖤
We celebrate Nowruz because it is older than these tyrants.
We celebrate because our roots are deeper than fear.
We celebrate because more than 3,000 years of Persian history, dignity, and patriotism cannot be erased by terror.
At 𝗨𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁, strength does not only mean physical. It means standing tall under pressure. It means refusing decline. It means carrying pain without surrendering identity.
This Nowruz, we honour and stand with Iranian people, and we choose strength.
𝗡𝗼𝘄𝗿𝘂𝘇 𝗣𝗶𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘇. 💚🤍💔

“Dear fellow compatriots,
Nowruz, the greatest ancient festival of us Iranians, and the oldest New Year celebration in the world, holds a special and deeper meaning for us Iranians this time than in years past.
This year’s Nowruz coincides with a great awakening to reclaim the freedom and national pride of Iranians, and follows the greatest street massacre by a regressive regime that took thousands of Iran’s youth from their families.
I think with empathy and affection of the families who have lost their loved ones and wish them peace and patience, and from the bottom of my heart, I share in the grief of the survivors of these immortal ones of our homeland.
My Nowruz hope and wish for my compatriots is that from now on, their strength be devoted solely to the reconstruction of Iran and returning it to the family of advanced nations of the world.
May the name of Iran and the Iranian once again resound with the same respect and pride with which it was known in a not-so-distant past.
My other wish is to see the joy and happiness of my compatriots soon, in a free and proud Iran.
I hope that this Nowruz will bring all these wishes, along with the final victory of light over darkness.
Long live Iran
Farah Pahlavi”

Last night at the gathering of the Iranian community of Simcoe County in Barrie, we came together to honour Nowruz with a deep sense of unity and compassion, while remembering the eternal souls of those who gave their lives on the path to freedom. 🌱
In this spirit, Members of Parliament also shared messages to mark the occasion and extend their greetings to the Iranian community of Simcoe County, showing their support and solidarity.
In times like these, it’s this sense of togetherness that matters more than ever.

As our homeland passes through historic and defining moments, celebrating Nowruz becomes more than a joyful custom; it is an expression of identity, remembrance, and quiet resilience. We honour those whose courage and sacrifice keep alive the hope of a free and proud future for Iran.
👉The year 2585 in the Shahanshahi (Imperial) calendar corresponds to the Persian New Year (Nowruz) on March 21, 2026. This calendar, based on the founding of the Persian Empire by Cyrus the Great, is observed by some as a way of celebrating Iranian heritage and marking the arrival of spring at the equinox.
🇭🇲🇮🇱🇺🇲🇮🇳With this spirit of renewal and hope, the Iranian-Australian community warmly invites our Jewish, Christian and Hindu friends — and all who cherish culture, freedom, and human connection — to join us for a grand celebration of Nowruz.
🙏🫂 Together, we welcome the new year with open hearts, shared joy, and a collective hope for a brighter future for Iran and for the world❤️🕊

March 18, 2026 will be remembered as a remarkable day. The first Iranian American Mayor of city of South Pasadena, Ca recognized an Iranian woman, Gilda Moshir, for her dedication to Iranian culture and community service.
Mayor Sheila Rossi held a first ever personally funded Nowruz reception before the March city council meeting, followed by presenting a Nowruz Proclamation.
Iranian Americans in South Pasedena gathered and IADC's President attended to support Mayor Rossi who also serves as IADC's Chair of LA Region.
All attendees wished for #peace, #prosperity and #freedomforiran💚🤍❤️

Chaharshanbe Suri is an ancient Persian festival celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday before Nowruz (the Persian New Year). It is a tradition where people gather, light bonfires, and symbolically jump over the flames to leave behind negativity and welcome health, warmth, and renewal.
This year, the celebration was held as a memorial ceremony in honor of our fellow countrymen who lost their lives and were tragically killed by the Islamic Republic.

Nowruz this year… more different than ever.
We sit behind the Haft-Seen table… with a heart that beats partly thousands of kilometres away… for Iran ❤️🤍💚
This video is not just a simple greeting… it is a narrative of solidarity, of a silence that holds many unspoken words… of a hope that does not fade, even in the hardest days.
With the enduring melody of “For Iran”, and beside a table that symbolises life and new beginnings, we wanted to remind ourselves:
Nowruz is not always just a celebration… sometimes it is an opportunity to see more deeply, to feel more profoundly… and to remain hopeful with greater strength.
In memory of, and with respect to, our eternal pure souls, and with endless love and a humble bow to the greatness and resilience of our brave sisters and honourable brothers.
In hope for brighter days… for Iran… for all of us, in a free Iran ❤️🤍💚
May your Nowruz be victorious.

In a time when silence costs lives, we thank Councillor @shelleycarrollto , Toronto’s Budget Chief and Councillor for Don Valley North, for using her voice to raise awareness about the situation in Iran. Her message underscored the vital role of the international community in confronting this regime and standing with the Iranian people in their pursuit of freedom and dignity.
This weekend, I had the opportunity to attend the 10th Annual Nowruz Celebration hosted by the San Jose Public Library. As the first Persian Councilmember representing our city, it was a meaningful reminder that new seasons bring new voices and possibilities—because winter never lasts, and spring always comes
