Back behind the knob wall for some dawless jams.  Really happy with this setup, it lets me do pretty much everything in just a few seconds.    Here are a few details about the routing:    The Isla S2400 is the main brain of the setup and acts as the drum machine/sampler.  The Isla clocks the Push 3 via USB, and the Push 3 controls every synth in the studio via MIDI. I just have to select the right MIDI output/channel from the push. I also use the Push 3 as an audio looper with clip recording, so I can start/stop and record additional audio loops whenever I want.    All the audio is routed to my Tascam M216 analog mixer to get that old-school grit we all love, and then into the Alesis 3630 as a smooth mastering glue compressor.    The Korg MS-20 and SQ-10 both have some minor technical issues that I can’t fix on my own at the moment, but they’ll soon be synced via clock from the Isla S2400 as well⏳   Can’t wait to make more music!

Jam box construction: - plan what instruments will be in your set up - arrange then how you will play them and then measure - use that measure to find a box that will fit it all (thrift stores are usually full of cheap suitcases) - plan a booster if your hands can’t conveniently reach in there - get some Velcro (middle strength) and stick it to the bottom of your instruments as you place them in - leave space for power and audio cables! - then is time to jam out!!! Everything got sandy but it’s fine probably. Anyway, driving to Austin for it SXSW set next weekend! Laser tag and DnB! #dawless

This Thursday in Austin is electronic night @hitwatx. It’s definitely the oddest type of show we do, but it’s also super rad. As you can see there’s no laptop to save us!!! We’re doing an oldschool #dawless set, just drum machines and midi sequencers. We’re going to re-envision some Delta Jams as well as improvise some house music. @felt_out is opening! Doors at 8. Houston is this Friday @contclubhouston will be a classic MLV show ;)
