I started this page almost 8 years ago simply because I loved creating a home that felt warm, cozy, and lived in. I never imagined how many of you it would connect me with along the way.Home has always been my happiest place - and now my favorite part is helping you make your house feel the same way. From simple DIYs and decorating ideas to affordable home finds, my goal is to show you that creating a home you love doesn’t have to be overwhelming or expensive. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or you’re just finding my page, I’m so glad you’re here. And if you’re not following yet, I’d love for you to join me - let’s make your home your happy place too.
Follow along for cozy inspiration, home ideas, and real-life moments in between.
My husband jokes that projects happen in 10-year increments around here. 🤣 Legit though... I started this bedroom 7 years ago, and never finished.
I finally picked up the project again this past month, and it has been moving like molasses. To be fair, I felt like I needed a week of recovery just from doing the ceiling (can you say arm week?). 💪
Removing popcorn ceilings is NOT fun. Frankly I don’t recommend doing it yourself if you can afford to have someone else do it, or even just going over it with thin drywall sheets or other ceiling material. If you are a glutton for punishment, go have it tested for asbestos first. Then if it is safe for removal, still don’t forget safety gear like a good mask, and seal everything off with plastic because it WILL waft through the house if you don’t.
I decided to go ahead and do some color drenching since painting everything the same color makes it simpler. Well, that and I couldn’t find the exact lighter version of the paint color I already have in here. 🤷🏾♀️ But I have always loved color drenched rooms.
This insanely gorgeous light fixture from @crystorama has me all inspired for the next phase of this remodel, which is installing crown molding and shadow box trim. I think it will add a sophisticated touch to this room.
Wish me luck as I am slooooowly getting trim painted and cut whenever I have spare time.
