Brian Morales was born in Denver, Colorado, in 2001. Shortly after turning one, his family moved to Mexico. So, he doesn’t speak English. Recently, he came back to the United States, using his birth certificate and other documents. On April 3rd, the vehicle he was riding in on the way to work was pulled over by law enforcement in near Fredericksburg, Texas. When he couldn’t provide an ID, officers turned him over to border patrol. He tried to explain to several officers that his birth certificate and Social Security card were at home, that he could get them a picture, but agents refused to listen and instead laughed at him. He claims they threatened him with years of imprisonment if he didn’t sign paperwork agreeing to his removal. Just days later, on April 7th, Morales was deported to a state in Mexico he had never visited. Five UC San Diego students had their F-1 visas terminated "without warning" from the school, according to a campus notice sent out Friday by Chancellor Pradeep Khosla. One other student was denied entry into the United States at the border and later deported back to their home country.
